Ugh. Neighbor dog came over here last week, then later the neighbor mentions the dog has fleas. Found a few on our dogs yesterday. Late night washing everything. Successfully bathed 2 dogs and 2 cats without a scratch, so that’s a win.

Trying some natural methods, because the crap chemical stuff made our cat run around like we had poured acid on her back, and the Seresto collars are obviously not working this year. Using a combo of recommendations from trusted friends with more knowledge than me on natural products.

- Bathed with Dawne dish soap (not natural really but less toxic)

- After dry, 1 drop Terra Shield essential oil and a glob of coconut oil rubbed between hands then smoothed over cats. They didn’t love it, but tolerated it.

- For dogs, 1 drop Terra Shield essential oil and one drop lemongrass, also with coconut oil and rubbed into coat.

-all blankets and bedding washed in hot water

- Our few rugs sprinkled with Borax

I have a few other recipes to try for ongoing treatment and plan to sprinkle the yard with diatomaceous earth. Other ideas welcome.

(No I don’t MLM oils, bad past MLM experiences, but we do love them)

Burned the chicken. #nostracted

Couldn’t get snort poll to work for me. And all of my messages in Snort read error. It doesn’t love me using the Chrome app/ chromebook. I need a new laptop.

So here’s the poll not poll.

Chicken Coop Question

We have 15 hens and 16, 3-week old chicks. We have expanded our coop every year because, chicken math. We do have a way to section off part of the chicken yard for them until they are big enough.

Should we:

A) section off a portion of our existing coop/hoop structure and add roosts for the babies? (see top pics)

B) use the extra hoop structure with green canvas top plus one or both of our little chicken house/tractors? (middle pics)

C) use the extra hoop structure with green top and add an enclosed coop portion inside it. (Still middle pics)

D) commandeer my 8x8 wired, insulated, drywalled She-Shed and turn it into a coop. (Bottom pics. Hubs says it is too nice for chickens).

E) another idea

Thanks. That is a good explanation. i guess I am just trying to figure out which is which and how to use them. Like should I use Alby and WOS as my wallets or Strike or BlueWallet? Is one better than the other. Are they all self-custody? I think so. I don't love how WOS app is wide open on my phone without much of a password. I think Exodus is an exchange, so by listening to #[2] , I know not to hold my Bitcoin on the exchange. I know buying on WOS cost me fees. I saw someone post about sending FIAT from something to Damus, so maybe that's a good route rather than straight purchasing. I know this is 80 million questions in one post, so probably not easy to answer. I'll be listening to the Bitcoin Breakout series again to try to process it all.

I have been selecting different devotionals on the Bible app. The one I've been doing lately is "Psalm 91: Got's Umbrella of Protection 21-Day Devotional by Peggy Joyce Ruth".

It was good for me for the first week or so, because I was dealing with some fear about some health circumstances. Now that I have a proper diagnosis of what was going on, and the fear has subsided, I'm feeling less inclined to finish it out. I'll do a search for another topic that fits better.

I tend to read the verse of the day, watch the verse of the day story, read from a devotional or two, do some reading in my FAA online recovery meeting, and journal as my morning quiet time.

Darn it if I didn’t wait for the photo to load again.

Good morning happy people! #grownostr #coffeechain

Growing tired of the morning devotional I was reading, and decided to add back a Proverb a day. 31 Proverbs, 31 days. There is good wisdom and usually a swift kick in the pants.

#zap etiquette question… does the Zapee thank the zapper? Follow? Zap back? 🤷‍♀️😂

Found this video on wicking beds, soil moisture, and wicking medium fascinating: https://youtu.be/O4aRMh_yRQk

Given the cost of perlite, we are going to use half plastic crates in each of our IBC totes to create a reservoir, surrounded by “sand burritos” sand wrapped in fabric around the edges. Once that is level, we will put down weed blocker and a layer of sand before our soil. I did get some perlite today to mix with the soil. Just not enough to put in a 2 inch layer in 14 beds.

Yes ma'am

That’s so freaking cool! Thank you! Now I have to figure out out of them other people.

Talked to our financial advisor about moving my retirement to a cash equivalent money market, based on what I have heard on the Wealthsteading Podcast. I wish I could get it out of the market all together and invest in real property. Advisor says it is never good to try to time the market. Advises we stay in. I have 15 years to retirement. I don’t think this is a normal market cycle though. Thoughts?? #grownoster #wealthsteading #finances #investing #retirement

Chicks are getting big! We’re ready for these stinkers to go outside. #grownostr #backyardchickens #microhomestead

#grownostr dang it. I keep forgetting the hashtags. Learning! #wickingbeds #microhomestead #gardening

Our neighbors must be saying “What in the world are they up to now?!”

Trying to follow #npub15879 to learn all the bitcoin things, and am feeling challenged. I need someone to breakdown the wallet thing... will be going back to Bitcoin Breakout episode 1 and starting from scratch, but I've got Strike and Exodus downloaded from before. Now BlueWallet because I was trying to figure out how to Zap. Set up Alby yesterday as a part of this Noster business... downloadedWallet of Satoshi yesterday and bought my first Bitcoin on there. I'm really having a hard time narrowing down what is a wallet, what is for lightning, what is an exchange. Can someone break this down for me. OH! And I have the Fold card, but I can't load money to it easily because my mailing address with my bank is a PO Box, so can't connect to my bank account. I'm going to try direct depositing part of my paycheck. Just feel like I have downloaded all of the things and don't know what to use for what. PHEW!
