"there's been a lot more influencer noise and less actionable content"

This goes for bitcoin too. Talk of "suddenly then gradually" for years & "we are very early". Back in 2020 I remember talk of bitcoin adoption being similar to internet adoption in 1995 but realistically there has been little meaningful adoption since then, there's no way that bitcoin will take on adoption the way the internet did it's just a dream. I recently got back on Primal after staying away for a while because it's essentially just a place for bitcoiners & their influencers (no-one else really uses it) to keep their convictions up. Oh well 🤷‍♂️

Yes, a noticeable change from the "Nostr will become the standard" talk he has used previously.

That's because it's all about belief. Many christians believe fervently that Jesus will return to earth soon. This belief has lasted over 2,000 years. You believe or you don't. I'm not sure you can convince yourself to believe in something that you inherently don't believe in & that's ok.

What happened to nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm ?

It seems like the simple “install this browser extension” user experience is replaced with a more complicated flow that requires running nodes?

Was this a regulatory change forced on them?

I don’t think I want to pay 21,000 sats a month because I barely used it, last time I logged in to it was 1 year ago.

Is there no way to do pay as you go 😅

Alby is a big pain the ass on my browser. I had to disable it. Going to remove it completely.

It's been "super early" for years though. In 2020 we were being told bitcoin adoption is the equivalent of internet adoption in 1995. I've been a bitcoiner for over 7yrs so I'm not a newbie butI dont see anything that truly suggests big adoption numbers. Unless something changes I suspect in 10yrs we will still be hearing "it's super early". Sorry for the cynicism but that's how it looks to me. I'd love to be convinced I'm wrong.

Maybe, but for years I've heard "gradually then suddenly" in regards to bitcoin & that still hasn't happened. I'm feeling a little skeptical tbh.

Meh. If you're going down that (silly) route you may as well say no, it's thanks to the company who made the servers & whoever provides the Internet access. If someone hadn't uploaded the file wouldn't be available on nostr, that's the point. 🙄

Are you saying the gov't is going to somehow acquire every US bitcoiners holdings?

Northern lassies, up where I'm from. Just as concerning as the price of the ice creams is that they mention they come with chewing gum. Nasty! I'll stick to the good old 99's 👍

Democrats are condescending to anybody that doesn't vote the same as them. It's disgusting, particularly as they pretend to be the inclusive ones.

Or, You are now verified as being decadent.

You're going to be years ahead of most people. Best advice I can give is to dollar cost average, buy it every week and just hold it. It's going to suck big time when the price drops but keep buying & keep holding, it will go up again 👍

I was a long distance runner for years, could never run on a treadmill. I would run outside through entire Boston winters regardless of temps except when impossible after major snowstorms. On Sundays I'd do 10 or 12 or 14 miles, loved it. Outside is awesome but not in the hot sticky summer so I would just not run at all for three months cos I just can't stand those treadmills!

Exercise has always been recommended to lift people up, it's nothing new. Next time you hear someone who is contemplating suicide because of their severe depression make sure to tell them to do do an hour of cardio & they'll be fine.

But that's schizophrenia, you were talking about depression. My fathers brother had schizophrenia, he died a homeless drug addict on the streets of Liverpool. My father had severe depression.
