In places were money has lost all its value, tobacco and alcohol are known to be easily exchangeable goods. Sarajevo experienced that during its siege in the 90s. If a bottle can feed a meal for a family once exchanged, it would make sense to target that out of desperation. That liquor isle is a bank.

Use a language with a SDK if you want to go fast. For nostr, NDK (nostr-dev-kit) is in javascript/typescript, and rust-nostr is in Rust, with bindings in python, kotlin and swift. Using them will make you earn a lot of time avoiding to reimplement what every nostr dev already did.

From NIP-57: "The zap receipt is not a proof of payment, all it proves is that some nostr user fetched an invoice. The existence of the zap receipt implies the invoice as paid, but it could be a lie given a rogue implementation."

So all you need is a rogue lightning node.

You need moderated topics, the way satellite.earth and nostr.kiwi works, this is where I hoped to find non-bitcoin communities, but it's still too early for good content

Is acinq to blame, or the protocol ? Liquidity requirements and routing were blamed very early on in LN history as possible incentives toward centralization, and I'm afraid that's what we're witnessing. I'm not sure of good solutions, other than hoping for other L2 protocol to come up.

They don't have to know what's going on on the sidechain, the impact is similar to verify a proof of work, just make sure that during the N last blocks, most miners accepted the transaction.

But that's what creates most of the ongoing debates, are the incentives correctly aligned to trust most miners?

I also love actualbudget.com , an open source equivalent of YNAB that you can self host.

Newpipe, open source YouTube client. No ads, background playing, no tracking, chronological feed, less exposure to the algorithm since it does not know anything about you, so you curate stuff yourself, kinda like onboarding on nostr.

"it copies the mining of expert"

Lol it's mining, there's no other expertise than plugging in an ASIC. Sounds like a "trading expert" scammer trying to reconvert and doesn't know what mining is.

Is there any client actually using NIP-02 decentralized petnames? Or are they all using NIP-05 more centralized names? I'm on amethyst and I want to try the UX of the former #asknostr

We need a culture shift away from "people should have consistent opinions", and " you are hypocritical because you wrote the opposite 5 years ago".

There's a saying in French, only idiots never change their mind.

Normal, meatspace interactions allow for forgiveness and change by the sheer fact that I dont remember every conversations, while cyberspace, last year is one click away. I think that's what put people off.

A relay can always ignore your request, and maybe it got broadcasted elsewhere you aren't aware of

It's a bit out of context, we she meant by that is if we have the money and political will to save banks (and we did, numerous time, as you know), then we should have no trouble saving the world.

It's indeed disappointing because fixing the world with bailouts won't work, but let's not pretend she wants banks to be saved.

NIP06 allow you to derive infinite number of keys from one seed phrase. I haven't seen a lot of clients implement this sadly.

Also can't send aggressive notifications as easily with websites without your approval, to make you come back into the app.
