Yes! Wow these look amazing... I bet Alex would love it if I could veganize them 👀

This porta potty looks like it's bigger on the inside

beautiful!! 💜

Ditto is software that can be self-hosted. Soapbox owns ditto.pub, the flagship server, but anyone can host their own Ditto instance. This policy ^ is one someone else made for their own Ditto server.

If you don't already have a NIP-05 username (the url you see in some people's profiles instead of the NPUB), now is a great time to get a free one over at nostr:npub10qdp2fc9ta6vraczxrcs8prqnv69fru2k6s2dj48gqjcylulmtjsg9arpj! This helps people know they are interacting with the real you, since NPUBs can be hard to recognize and scammers will easily impersonate your profile 😬

You need to put in a URL generated by a Nostr bunker. For example, NSECBunker or Amber (android), but the only one that I could get to work was nak. This is a terminal tool you run in the background to sign events:

https://github.com/fiatjaf/nak

Btw - zap to pay for usernames is in the pipeline for soon... #NostrPlebs 👀

nostr:npub1x0r5gflnk2mn6h3c70nvnywpy2j46gzqwg6k7uw6fxswyz0md9qqnhshtn 's Ditto relay policy is hilarious. 😂

Even #fiatjaf is in there

What did Wordle ever do to you?! 😭 😭 😭

(ps. I just learned that this happens bc the new instance doesn't have your follow list yet, so when you sign an new follower event from it, it pushes over your existing following list. To avoid in the future, subscribe to a relay and then push a follow event from another client on that relay that has your existing list to get it to populate to the new server database. Kind of annoying for sure, and a common problem across clients) 😬

For now you can do it by going directly to the URL, like this, but we plan to implement it in the UI eventually:

The powerful thing about nostr:npub10qdp2fc9ta6vraczxrcs8prqnv69fru2k6s2dj48gqjcylulmtjsg9arpj is that it allows people to build communities on #Nostr (as moderated or limited as they desire) without impinging on anyone else’s freedom.

After running a Fedivese server with 20,000+ accounts for 5 years, I’ve learned how important this is. Many people want communities catered to their desired vibe. As an admin, you have the responsibility to both nurture the vibe of the group, and protect individual users’ freedom. This is often in conflict.

But thanks to the account portability of Nostr, a user can be removed from a #Ditto server yet, unlike on the Fediverse, they don’t lose access to their account, their data doesn’t disappear, and they aren’t censored from the whole network. That user is just excluded from *your* domain.

Freedom of Association + Freedom of Speech 🤝 Ditto + Nostr
