This morning at the hotel in #Andorra, I spotted a girl who works here and immediately knew she was Dominican like me.
I hesitated at first but decided to ask her. I'm so glad I did because she was indeed Dominican!
We hugged at least five times, shared some laughs, and exchanged our thoughts.
The emotion, love, and sense of belonging I felt afterward were indescribable.
It's been four years since I left my homeland, the Dominican Republic.
Being an immigrant really changes your perspective. You learn to appreciate the little things, find joy in unexpected connections, and realize that home is more than just a placeโit's the people who make you feel at home, no matter where you are.
