Well Microstrategy is hiring for a role that I am/was qualified for.

But I am pretty happy in my current position of poppa/grandpa, vagabond and husband.

Lord, grant that I might take no more notice of the shortcomings of my enemies than of those of my grandchildren.

I’m making a push to get on Nostr more, rather than X / Twitter. Thanks nostr:nprofile1qyv8wumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsq3vamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwwpexjmtpdshxuet5qqsqfjg4mth7uwp307nng3z2em3ep2pxnljczzezg8j7dhf58ha7ejgqgzx3h , nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcp2amhxue69uhkv6tvw3jhytnwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0dec82c33wv6hjufkwaskgamj0pjx2drvdpn8xdfkvahrvdrgwaa826rwvesnvu3ed44rgdekwg6hxdrgdd6ku7n80fchyuekwymh5qpqs5yq6wadwrxde4lhfs56gn64hwzuhnfa6r9mj476r5s4hkunzgzqjx5gu2 nostr:nprofile1qy0hwumn8ghj7cnfw33k76twd4shs6tdv9kxjum5wvhx7mnvd9hx2qg4waehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvsqzq3e0gs8jnmued6f2rp4c6vs07xqvs4vs8zpwt82smcdch4txjvq76kl2yj nostr:nprofile1qythwumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skuep0qy0hwumn8ghj7cnfw33k76twd4shs6tdv9kxjum5wvhx7mnvd9hx2qpqhk0tv47ztd8kekngsuwwycje68umccjzqjr7xgjfqkm8ffcs53dqr23eea nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytndv9kxjm3wdahxcqg5waehxw309ahx7um5wfekzarkvyhxuet5qqsw4v882mfjhq9u63j08kzyhqzqxqc8tgf740p4nxnk9jdv02u37ncdhu7e3 for continuing to educate people about Nostr.

I was mostly a lurker on Twitter. When I did tweet, it was primarily talking smack to shitcoiners. I’ll try to provide more signal on Nostr.

I'm a bitcoin maxi. My portfolio consists of 1) bitcoin and 2) MSTR. And just enough fiat to pay the bills.

Despite being in bitcoin a while, I haven’t had much luck orange-pilling folks. An approach I’ve taken recently is framing it more as “if you’re not going to buy bitcoin, at least buy some for your kids.” This allows them to see the power of dollar-cost averaging (DCA).

In addition to the bitcoin I purchase for myself, I buy bitcoin monthly for my kids. I’ve done this since they were born. $200 on birthday and Christmas, $50 every month (bumped the $50 to $100 a few months ago). My oldest was born in 2019. As of January 2025 the total USD invested of $7500 has purchased 0.35 BTC. In USD terms it’s worth over $35k! ROI of 377%.

My youngest was born in 2021. The total invested of $5k has purchased 0.13 BTC. It is worth over $13k. An ROI of 165%.

Family and friends find this hard to believe. I suggest they try it for themselves. I think most people can afford to save money on behalf of their children, even if it’s only $20 a month.

Same here (different amounts).

I have learned not to correct people even when I know they are wrong. The burden of making everyone perfect is not on me.

This started in China. And to tell the truth without the benefit of any Bitcoin influence. The CCP is already realizing how hard it is to reinflate a burst property bubble.

Probably not. I didn’t read your report carefully enough. Not gentle, tender pain. Sit up in bed, middle of the night screaming pain. As we age, we need medical attention more than we would like to admit. Like high mileage used cars.

Trying out Primal for the first time, thanks to the annoying insistence of nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx ... Looking forward to posting on #NOSTR more regularly (and weening off of X) via a solid desktop app! 🍻

@ODELL is the NOSTR God.

Here’s a look behind the curtain, for someone who’s been involved with trying to get Dems to do a pivot and call off the attack dogs.

TL;DR - seeing some chatter about high up appointments for Harris economic, treasury, cabinet feels very Warren to me.

A lot of “crypto” industry getting involved, some of which I am now connected with and regularly communicating with. I’m arguing bitcoin, mining, PoW, self-custody, and open source development protections and release needs to be at the table. Only a few of us are saying this and it’s getting drown out by shitcoin nonsense. Not feeling too optimistic at the moment.

Also, with the Harris campaign only being like 3 weeks old, she has soooooo many more policy priorities to work on that they feel are more important for the election including healthcare, economy/affordability, immigration, climate, etc. crypto/bitcoin is not an election issue for them atm.

Do I think the Harris team will be more open than Biden? Yes absolutely. Do I think they’ll make strides on things I care about in bitcoin? I’m not too optimistic atm.

The only dem that kind of gets it is Ro Khanna, and dnc powers that be arent a huge fan of that and would much prefer to go the way of Warren (Warren is a political machine who doesn’t take not for an answer).

Maybe I’ll be completely wrong, but that’s what intel and experience tells me so far from these past few weeks. Dems perhaps won’t care until they’re forced to care, and in their polling voters aren’t telling them it’s an issue they need to worry about for the election. At least not yet…

Really need to dump Warren. Or more to the point, whoever it is on her staff giving her bad advice on Bitcoin.

Here's what worked for me:

Peter told me "smoke and don't feel guilty." Followed this path for another year, year and a half.

Peter again said this quip, "I noticed that when I wanted a smoke, if I lit up, the desire to smoke went away. But the I discovered that when I wanted a smoke and didn't light up, the desire to smoke went away."

Finally, one Memorial Day weekend, many years ago a friend claimed he was quitting so I chimed in, "OK. I'm in." My mind tried to tell me, "If you don't smoke, you're gonna die." Ok, I thought, I'll die then.

Phase I, physical addiction, lasted about 3-7 days. Phase II, behavioral addiction, lasted around 6 months to a year. Phase III continues 35+ years later.

It's not easy, but it is possible.
