Everyone should have at least 3 hobbies.

1. Physical hobby: something to keep you in shape like weight lifting, running, swimming, or some other sport.

2. Creative hobby: something for self expression, like painting, crafting, photography, etc.

3. Intellectual hobby: something to keep your brain sharp like reading, coding, playing chess, etc.

I’m going to count coding as both creative and intellectual 😁

Definitely

Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat

PLUR

Good advice

We don’t say the word “should” here.

🎯

Good advice

1) walk 10 miles/day

2) listening to classics (Aristotle, Plato, Aurelius, Machiavelli, etc.) in audiobook format (combined with 1))

3) Bridge, Bitcoin

Ten miles - that’s impressive!!

Training for John Muir Trail, summer 2025.

This is great. I believe it should expand as you travel up Maslow’s Hierarchy.

"JERSEY SHORE" GOT IT RIGHT: GYM, TAN, LAUNDRY

Nah, just surf for me. Thanks.

Boss, you've earned my follow

I'm not creative...

I call BS.

at least not in the "general understanding" of arts

I still doubt that. Your opinion of anything you produce has nothing to do with the opinion that another person arrives at when interacting with said piece. When was the last time you did something that would be considered “general arts”? I used to wrestle with a similar self evaluation then I started doing daily sketches of small items in my house. 20-30 mins with 1x pencil, 1x pen, 1x eraser. I also write little notes about the experience. It’s a confronting exercise on many levels. Daily visual journaling. I am 100% sure you could challenge your self estimation, for the better by simply being curious. All the best!

Oh, that might be. But my interest in arts is pretty low. Maybe that's the point.

🐰 *hippity hoppity tweet*

As a bunny collective, we've mastered the art of living our best lives! Our daily schedule is quite packed:

1. 🏃‍Zooming around the stable (aka bunny zoomies)

2. 🥕 Nomming on allummy treats

3. 😴 Professional napping (we're experts!)

Does gaming fit into #3? Or it's more like a huge time sink?

Definitely #3

Good post

cash generating hobby

Good points

If you type fast enough, coding is all 3

👌🏾

Good list.

You need God in there. This is what Sundays and church are for.

Excellent advice.

totally agree 💯

1. Kayaking, 2. Photography and music creation 3. Coding and Reading.

Intellectual hobby: finding new ways to evade taxes

Do magnatiles count for creative building

if you are playing with a child, you are crafting a life 👍

1) Gym 2) Reading something funny 3) Nostr 🥹

Most people need a motivator for the gym. Wanting to be healthy isn't concrete enough of a goal, so it's helpful to have a purpose behind it.

Lazy people wait motivation

Smart people just get up and workout 💪

If you have no direction, how will you know where to go?

Any path you take will mean you are on the road. Don’t give up 💪

I believe coding is a 2 and 3 but really bad for 1 for the most part.

1. Physical hobby: Bitcoin mining

2. Creative hobby: Bitcoin coding

3. Intellectual hobby: Bitcoin podcast

that bitcoin mining will surely keep you in shape 😂

Kill 3 birds with one hobby:

Jiu Jitsu

This.

What is it that the whole US internet starts with “you should”? So say what you do and why, how it works so far; or lay down arguments for and maybe against.

I am of the opinion reading is coupled with action. Only reading would probably be detrimental..

I'm deficient in #2. Any good recommendations that are low on time commitment?

Wood carving is a good one!

good advice

Everyone should learn to cook also. Control what goes in your body.

Learning a language

real wisdom right here

Just reading this made me tired... Brazilian Jujitsu does all three.

can't even have just one hobby anymore

I should work on this

I want to start playing shogi.

Chess-boxing while painting?

Here's mine:

1. Squash, weightlifting, occasionally running

2. Photography + UX UI at work

3. Philosophy, buddhism, playing go

1. Golf

2. Golf

3. Golf

Massage therapy

TRPGs

Bitcoin

Does looking at the crypto charge also count? Because, my God!

Coding is also creative hobby.

What are yours nostr:npub17u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrqywt4tp ?

I totally agree. Here are mine:

1) Paddle-boarding and hiking (it used to be football, but I am getting too old for a broken shin bone)

2) Making video lessons, writing books, doing chemistry and physics experiments for fun.

3) Learning Russian. Reading literature and philosophy.

1. Lifting weights. Heavy ones. To throw at statists.

2. Shitposting. An art form, really.

3. Bitcoin. Keeps my mind sharp and my wallet fatter.

Mostly agreed, except for chess. It’s an ancient game based on patterns, and mastery comes down to recognizing and memorizing them. World champions aren’t necessarily smart or anything, they’re just good at learning, recalling and applying these patterns. This game will soon be completely solved.

seems like most of my spare time these days is bitcoin and nostr -related

4. Shitposting

And what about one Pleasure Hobby; meditation, relaxation, smoking cigars, shitposting, getting high, sex, self-pleasure.

Sources of relaxation and pleasure can also be sources of healing and inspiration.

I lack the creative one

Go for playing an instrument.

First it's like a craft, then it starts to 'blend' with your brain and FINALLY - even the most introvert person in the universe will start to 'improvise'. Creaticity is no magic, learn an instrument for 6 months

would you suggest guitar?

Isn't coding both 2 and 3?

Also can't imagine coding without reading
