I’ve not been on here for ages, which I’ll sort out soon lol.

Merry Christmas. Hope you all have a great one and thanks for a great 2025. Thanks for the Sats, support and everything.

Playing around in AUM this evening and came up with this track or sketch as I prefer to call these little performances.

https://samply.app/p/KscZM7vduZ2f2TYaxzAT?si=GtwKCcDO7XP6dAsIn4ZML4UhnPk1

Got out on my feet this morning, to film two very interesting locations for my YouTube channel, which is a separate project to Modulations and RP, the newsletters that to see from profile here on Substack.

The first was to find the confluence of two rivers, the Thames and the Kennet and Avon, a location just outside Reading. The walk took new through an area that was very gritty, edgy, rundown which is often the case where industry once stood tall, now long gone, echoes of the past.

The second was a totally different place, a beautiful church in the heart of Hampshire, that I’ve known for years but have never been inside; until today, it was one of the most fascinating I’d seen.

Now, it’s just a case of editing footage from three different sessions.

Aldi and Lidl are huge here in the UK. There’s a road into Reading, our nearest major town that has two Aldi. Yes two. Mad. Why? It might be because it’s close to a somewhat deprived part of town.

We’ve a Lidl between our two villages and we’re anything but deprived lol. We’re not posh, just middle class folks if you have to categorise us šŸ˜‰

The other day the car park there was packed!

Everyone is feeling the pinch though

Places online that I thought were impervious to this kind of thing, have sadly turned out not to be. I for one don’t like the right or left as they are today, they seem to be the same thing almost. Angry. It makes it harder for people to find friendly political ground and they feel compelled to run to one or the other, there seems to be less of a ā€œsafe havenā€ in between now. Or is that what we are led to believe? Are we not using our own ears, eyes and minds? Have we all become conduits of the echo chamber and that seems to perpetuate across many of the social media platforms.

Did you know I have a podcast? New episode out today.

🌊 SURF 'N TURF šŸļø

-THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE-

The Gallos Statue at Tintagel Castle in Cornwall is a striking modern addition to one of England’s most legendary sites, long associated with the birth of King Arthur. Perched dramatically on the rugged headland, the statue commands sweeping views of the Cornish coastline, creating a powerful visual connection between myth, history, and the natural landscape. Tintagel Castle itself, with its crumbling medieval ruins, has long been steeped in Arthurian lore, drawing visitors eager to experience the birthplace of Britain’s most famous mythical king.

Standing at an impressive 8 feet tall, the Gallos Statue is made of bronze and depicts a cloaked figure gazing pensively toward the sea. Its name, ā€œGallos,ā€ means ā€œpowerā€ in Cornish, a fitting tribute to the heroic and mystical legacy of King Arthur. The artist designed the figure with an air of mystery and reflection, allowing viewers to project their own imagination onto the statue—whether seeing it as Arthur himself, a guardian of the castle, or a symbolic representation of leadership and strength across the ages.

Since its installation, Gallos has become more than just a work of art; it has transformed Tintagel into a site where history, legend, and modern creativity converge. Visitors often pause at the edge of the headland, marveling not only at the dramatic scenery but also at the sense of connection the statue fosters between the present and the mythic past. The Gallos Statue stands as a testament to Cornwall’s enduring cultural heritage, keeping alive the story of King Arthur for generations of admirers and adventurers.

It’s superb

Welcome to primal and nylon strings are quite a beautiful thing. Have been thinking of getting back into guitar to complement my synth work.

Thanks for zapping my loopy pro post the other day, much appreciated.

GM folks. Been away for a bit. Had enough of feeds lol

Not close to us, no. However Cornwall is great for surfing and we can get there in a day. I don’t surf though.

That’s hilarious! Totally unconnected, but last night we walked past a butchers that was next door to a vegan restaurant in Caversham! My wife burst out laughing.

GM! Haven’t got that many new photographs to share with you at the moment, so I’ll dig into the archives for a few days until I’ve gathered some more. Harvested new photos as I like to say!

This one was captured in the Surrey hills and I fancied trying something different using the zoom burst technique. I mounted my Sony on a tripod, composed the shot and then quickly turned the focus ring whilst the shutter was open.

Just for the record. If sites such as Bluesky, Spotify etc prompt me to upload my license or do face scanning ,they can fuck off. I will not use them full stop. They track us enough as it is.

Absolutely brilliant, going to check out her other work.

The online safety act is stupid. Any site that will request my ID will be ā€œblacklistedā€ by myself for bowing to authoritarianism.

If only I knew how maths defines everything around us when I was at school, I’d have taken it more seriously. School was a big let down tbh. Never did they mention the golden ratio, the Mandelbrot or how music is maths. Instead we had to work out, if I had ten quid, bought a sack of potatoes…how much change. FFS.

I was pondering the same question nostr:nprofile1qqswswmx4rkj6d7q05dtafhpkqq2z42fc62s37jvtp642m2jkpfxc2cpz4mhxue69uhks6tnwshxummnw3ezumrpdejqz9rhwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjmc5c6j05 as I had a similar response to my note.

Testing out longer video uploads. This one was from our trip to Slovenia not that long ago. We had parked up at the top of the hills and walked down along the forested path to the River SĒ’ca in the valley below. We had to cross this bridge and it’s one of those wobbly jobs. I’m not great with heights and especially not bridges like this one!

It was well worth it though because the views were fantastic and had a great look at the river, that we kayaked the following day.

Went blackberry picking yesterday and they still need a little more time to grow. Lots of small berries but they tasted ok. Will gather some more later.

A performance from last week using my iPad running loopy pro version 2. I’ve hooked up my Torso Instruments T1 as the main MIDI controller sending notes etc to the iPad on different channels. One synth and a drum machine. Nice and simple.

Was great to try out Camo Studio for the recording and the ability to add a Picture in Picture video of myself, streaming style.

Saw a ghost in the window of this old house today. Freaked me out!
