Didn't need to do an AI pass, I guess, I just wanted to see how well it worked on this older set.

Fixed.

Huh, the AI pass just... failed on that last image. One moment.

Screw it, I'll give all the photos an AI pass and edit the post. One moment.
Funny that the first new set that I chose to upload has noise issues.
Gave the first image an AI pass with Topaz, just for fun.

AI makes some background elements look off.

Additional test.
Photo given AI / Topaz pass, then downscaled back to match original image size.

The 4x upscaling didn't help. Likely would look better if I did the pass and then returned the image back to original scale.

Gonna post some other sets that had really poor quality. I wanna see how well Topaz handles a wide range of things.
nostr:npub1a0qxpztc73n47hp37wxfqt6thaakt97seu7satuv7uz65mnlq37sxu3tmr Yeah, she really is. I kept my Suicide Girls subscription running primarily for her sets back around 2010. She retired about ten years ago which is unfortunate, I'd love to see even more material from her than the dozen or so SG sets she shot.
Gotta take a quick break, my own instance is pissed at me for uploading too rapidly.
It took about 15 minutes to run through 45 photos in Topaz.
I let the AI take the wheel. The program has the capacity to do several things, and I let it decide on its own for each image what the image needed. Some photos got a sharpen pass, some got a de-noise pass, and they all got a "Face AI" pass, which does whatever tech thing they like to do to faces to make them scale up a bit better.
Also, if you're a #feet person, stick around, as later photos will appeal to you.
I think what I want to do now, just for my own fun (and to reward you for your patience in my experiments) is upload the entirety of that Aleon set. Aleon was in my top three models back in the late '00s / early '10s, and "In The Clover" is my most favorite set she ever released.
But this will still be an experiment! I'm gonna run every photo through Topaz first before uploading. Let me know what you think after I upload, if you notice any photos that are bit wonky / "fake" looking.
nostr:npub1a0qxpztc73n47hp37wxfqt6thaakt97seu7satuv7uz65mnlq37sxu3tmr I think I'd agree with you, photo 4, then just photo 1. The manual sharpen on 2 seems completely pointless and #3 just adds a quality to the photo that I do not like at all.

This is a further test to try and isolate the cause of some issues with the Topaz AI pass the first time around
Photo 1 - original, downscaled by 75% before upload
Photo 2 - downscaled by 75% first, then a Topaz AI pass was done

Okay, so that seems to have fixed things, and that really highlights the issue with uploading large images to Mastodon. It tends to completely butcher them.
