GM Nostr! Happy Friday!
It's been a good week...
Looking forward to a hot cup of coffee, and the weekend!

Hmmm...don't expect it'd be an issue. The carrier's service is tied to the SIM card...looking at their website, they support Google Pixel and GSM, CDMA, 4G LTE, and 5G.
They check compatibilty via the IMEI, so that's based on the Pixel hardware (not software). You should be all set. ๐
Politicians have to "work their way up" the system to progress. You have look the other way at indiscretions, and you end up taking money along the way to support your campaigns, and become part of the system. (Yes, I've seen this firsthand).
Trump came into the system without any of that baggage--he never "owed" anyone anything, and consequently he couldn't be "bought".
And that's why he's so villified by career politicians....
The biggest "easy win" for privacy is to avoid associating you identity with your IMSI and IMEI (e.g., but not signing into Google on your phone).
There are so many "easy" thing that help with privacy that you can do, and you can then ramp up additional items as you go.
And (or course) using Graphene...
Hmmm...all phones kind of look the same to me, and I always have a case on, so...
One thing I don't like about the Pixel is the on/off and the volume buttons are too close together, and (especially with the case I have) I often turn the phone off by mistake.
And I really don't like the virtual keyboard that comes with #GrapheneOS (although I understand they're working on that).
And yet, I've owned iPhones as well as stock Android phones in the past, and I have to say I've been most happy with Graphene.
One of the biggest plusses is battery life--without all the "bloatware" and spyware from carriers and from Google / Facebook / etc. that are "loaded at startup" and always on, I find I really never have to charge my phone during the day. It's been a revelation...
Just sharing my experience (good and bad)...
GM Nostr! Happy Thursday!
Had a friend ask me about the new iPhone and its privacy dangers, and sent him a recent Rob Braxman video in response.
Thought I'd share it here for those folks concerned about privacy as well:

Grab a cup of coffee and watch - it's worth listening to...

Doesn't really matter to me who you'd pick...so long as you don't waste your vote...
Trump isn't a politician...
It's not been his lifelong career, working his way up the system and becoming indebted to every donor along the way.
He's a disruptor...
Wow, that's an amazing video!
It's all about the team that you put together...companies succeed because of a CEO's skill in identifying and surrounding himself with exceptional talent.
Pixel hardware has the best security infrastructure (which is why it the preferred choice for Graphene). I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a Pixel over any other phone currently in the marketplace.
My objective is privacy...and for that, there is no better choice than Pixel and #GrapheneOS
(You really should try it--there will be some great deals on Google phones on Black Friday - expecting a nice deal on Pixel 8s and any 7s they still have in stock. I may upgrade my wife's phone at that time...)
GM Nost! Happy Wednesday!
Going to need an extra coffee or two (or three). Was up a little late last night! ๐

If you're wondering, how to do this, with your own relay, or where to rent a relay to do this, I can recommend relay.tools. Great dev, solid service, quick responses on issues or server attacks, independent cloud, etc. A lot of the stuff I described, only became possible to do because nostr:npub10npj3gydmv40m70ehemmal6vsdyfl7tewgvz043g54p0x23y0s8qzztl5h invented it. He has some interesting new features coming up soon, as well. ๐
You can also use his open-source libraries, to manage your self-hosted relay.
Oh--thanks for sharing this...need to learn more about relays!
??
Not sure how anyone can be so indifferent, and to waste your freedom so flippantly.
You should be ashamed...
Good spot for a #meshtastic solar mega node. #testing https://video.nostr.build/f02ceb046c1e8ea0c9ba7b7211e50e632ad7374e2543ddc713b5ff07b257aaac.mp4
Dang...I have to learn more about this...
Many have eSIM...but not all. There are pros and cons to each. The question here is that to obtain a SIM from a carrier will you have to go through KYC? I believe the answer is yes, but I frankly don't know for sure...
The SIM (and the IMSI) identify the user of the phone (i.e. your phone call and text destination). Assuming that a "burner" phone has a SIM that is not attached to your identiry? If so, then a phone with a non-KYC SIM running #grapheneOS would seem to be an optimal combination.
But (for most?) that would entail getting a new phone number (and I think that's likely unpalatable for many).

GM Nostr! Happy Tuesday!
Illegals being allowed to vote in Philly...the steal is on...
So sad to see how much cheating is going on in our elections, and no one is willing to step up and stop it.
The entire government is corrupt.
Boy, I'm going to need a lot of coffee today...
