"Freedom of speech is being able to tell someone else something they don't want to hear." "No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended." "Once you realize that politicians are not altruistic, and that they're in politics for themselves and their own personal gain, then everything makes sense." "No one is above the law." "Have you ever met a poor politician?"

Or...you can putt one day, but not chip, and the next day vice versa...

Just got the 5 Meshtastic nodes I ordered from nostr:npub160t5zfxalddaccdc7xx30sentwa5lrr3rq4rtm38x99ynf8t0vwsvzyjc9

So excited to start my Meshtastic journey! Everything was well packaged and started right up. Cases appear to be high-quality. Included in the package was a copy of the Cipherpunks manifesto, and a flyer about NOSTR.

Thank you and well done, Gary.

There are lots of them here... 😃

#coffeechain is always good for some philosophical gems...and then follow (and zap) those folks...

Hmmm...I have zero trust and faith in the central government...

And I'd argue that any amount of trust and faith above that is completely misplaced.

LOL - was about to close this thread and saw this post--hysterical.

GM Nostr! Happy Tuesday!

Always nice to start your day with Nostr and all the GM wishes!

No better way to enjoy a cup of coffee!

#coffeechain

Ok, that's different...have to pull back a bit from the screen, but neat effect!

GM Nostr! Happy NMonday!

Another week, another coffee, another zap (or two...or threee...)

(I think three should be spelled with the extra "e"...kind of like onomatopoeia with letters...)

#coffeechain

Hmmm...migth have to grab one of those...I like the idea of an ultra-small form factor on a keychain...

GM Nostr! Happy Sunday!

Naomi has a good video out on "I have nothing to hide"...worth watching over a cup of coffee sometime today...

Worth reading through... 😃

Some really interesting facts, and a different perspective from how we look at Christmas in the US. (Really like going door-to-door as the 3 kings...)

Thanks for putting this together L...really interesting to read through! 😃

No--I just use clent.meshtastic.org if I need it...but I really use (and prefer) the phone app...just used the web app for the T-Deck (as it wouldn't connect to the phone app).

Maybe there is a solution (i.e., maybe it's me) but given the other challenges wtih the UI, I decided to put it on the shelf and go back to the Meshtastic firmware.

Will wait to see how the T-Deck Pro goes, and then maybe I'll revisit that UI...I'd be surprised if they roll out the Pro with "only" the standard meshtastic UI...

Well, I understand the dev is continuing to work on that UI, and there is a T-Deck "Pro" coming soon, so perhaps it will improve shortly.

Still, even without the cool UI the T-Deck is the best #meshtastic device I've used so far, and if I were to recommend one to a person just starting out, the T-Deck would be it.

Other devices are cheaper, better battery life, etc. but being truly self-contained is a game changer.

GM Nostr! Happy Saturday!

So gave up on the prototype "pretty" UI for the T-Deck and went bact to the stock #meshtastic firmware (at least for the time being).

The UI was amazing, but just not stable enough (biggest problem for me was if it was turned off (or reset--easy to do with the T-Deck) it couldn't send messages--well, they get sent and you get an ACK back, but messages never show up on the remote devices. The only way to solve this that I found is to receive a message on the T-Deck first--and once that message is received you can then send messages. I also couldn't connect to the T-Deck with the Meshtastic phone app - could only connect via a serial connection to Meshtastic web, and even that was buggy. (So really hard to change settings--espeically GPS which is not part of the prototype UI).

The stock firmware does not exhibit these behaviors, so I'll stick with that as it's simply more usable. Still love the T-Deck though--the keyboard makes it a true stanalone unit, which is what makes Meshtastic a compelling technology.

Time for coffee after writing such a long post...
