Another way to see it is that we need randomness.
We are guided by the information we process, and the only limiting factor in someone’s ability to control our thoughts is the interjection of randomness. Privacy means increasing entropy, and thus increasing randomness.
The issue is that humans are really bad randomness generators. If our minds are isolated from sources of randomness, they become pretty deterministic. Mentalists temporarily reduce your experienced randomness and manage to get pretty close to deterministic behaviour.
Luckily we more or less constantly source randomness from our environment. This is only true in so far as a process is random both to an individual and to the actor trying to control it.
Now extrapolate that to virtual realities. True randomness is nullified, every variable can be controlled and thus every thought can be made deterministic.
We should advocate for the injection of true randomness into any virtual reality we create to avoid giving anyone deterministic control over those that experience the virtual reality.

Sadly, assistance and services for disabled children, and adults, are under-funded and under-staffed even in developed countries.
This is an issue that is close to my heart and that I am very familiar with. My little brother has been part of many such schools and institutions for heavy mental disability.
These institutions can be private or public, and both have their own challenges.
In Belgium, the public ones rely on government funding and, while it is generally considered a safer source of funding, they must follow strict criteria on the type of disabilities that can be accepted to join their establishment. As a result, certain types of disabilities have very few institutions, and for the few that exists, there is not enough funding, and thus not enough staff.
Some remain private to be able to accept a broader spectrum of disabilities. Those are constantly looking for funding, and as a result can be very expensive to join.
In France, there are so few schools and institutions that some parents travel all the way to Belgium to be sure their children can have the assistance that they need. They only see their children once a week, or less, because of the distance.
If this is true in Europe, you can only imagine what choices people are faced with in countries with much less means.
Despite it all, you will find the most kind hearted and dedicated staff in those places. People that work there are doing it from a place of love and compassion.
It's true that Bitcoin doesn't fix this, human compassion and care does. But my hope, and life work, is that a prosperous world and society can find the generosity to support those that will never be able to contribute back in equal amounts.
I know they still have the 20 dollars worth of sats I gifted my little cousin. Never managed to recover them.

According to a paper published in 2015, WeChat user growth over time followed a Power Law with an exponent of 2.15
It showed that its growth is more closely followed by a Power Law than an exponential. I thought i'd be cool to see if Nostr's growth can be modelled as a Power Law too.
Taking the 6 month data on daily active users from nostr:npub1sx9rnd03vs34lp39fvfv5krwlnxpl90f3dzuk8y3cuwutk2gdhdqjz6g8m and fitting a power law on it, we get an exponent of 2.415 and an R2 of 0.569
For the model I assumed the first day being December 15th 2020, around the time of the first Nostr note, and removed outliers.
The R2 is not very high, but the fit is visually promising. Still, it's too little data to really see if it's a good fit.
To do a proper fit, it'd be ideal to get the historical data for Nostr's entire history, assuming the same TrustRank applied by nostr:npub1sx9rnd03vs34lp39fvfv5krwlnxpl90f3dzuk8y3cuwutk2gdhdqjz6g8m
