Shipped a relatively bug free Nos to the App Store. Facilitated the pivot to Communities.

Why more traction? Folks here are big on Nostr. If you are trying to build a presence here I think people will be more inclined to follow and engage with you if you are on Nostr. If you are simply trying to connect with friends on all the diff protocols it doesn't matter where your account is. Depends on your goals.

You can also use the Nooti app to cross post on both. My sense is that you get more traction on Nostr with a Nostr account.

I normally don’t use the mostr.pub relay and I have been able to see posts from activity pub accounts. I connected that relay recently to speed up load times in Nostr.

Super excited about the latest release of Nos. We’ve made some updates in preparation for the Residency and Accelerator launches later this month!

We’ve also updated our content moderation tools to better reflect the intent of the NIPs while creating a better experience for users.

Lastly we made many improvements across the app to make it easier to see the profile of those who are mentioned.

for all the folks seeking non-Bitcoin or Nostr development content, Nos is currently recruiting for both a Creator Residency and Journalism Accelerator scheduled to launch May 15.

We've recruited some great Creators who are already on Nostr as well as some new folks external and several journalists, but we could use more folks.

The Residency and Accelerator programs are free and last for two months. Creators and journalists (or publications) can focus on their content while we support distribution.

This is a great opportunity for emerging content creators who've struggled trying to figure out the algorithms elsewhere as well as for journalists who are losing distribution channels by the day.

Not surprising, but deeply disappointing. Non-profits who take corporate $$ can’ be trusted and this is why. The relationship is a means of reputation laundering.

Stramlabs and Streamelements enable this for creators on Twitch and it seems to work well in that context.

There is also a huge industry for donations and the infrastructure to send it directly to the organization. In these instances a creator does some sort of online event or challenge and encourages their community to donate.

The larger nonprofits are into it - they show up to Twitchcon every year to recruit streamers for fundraising efforts.

That’s bait to bring in a different audience. I still subscribe to their print magazine and the long form pieces are well researched and good.

This is an interesting problem to solve:

Kathe Kollwitz show is up at MOMA and it’s definitely worth a visit. She was one of the first women artists to succeed visually while also putting forward a woman’s point of view.

Also one of the few sculpters who can render emotion well in 3D.
