Too much fluoride

🤣

Fell off

😂

🤦‍♂️

Everything changes.

I bought a lot of their magazines sagging since 1991 till 2002 i believe and really was an interesting stuff to read even nowadays! But now whenever i see it on main and read few sentences it’s just another sold or journalists :/

I hate typos, *lot since 1991

I think they had to let go most of their good people - same with National Geo ..

Value 4 value is too late for most of the good content ..but I am sure they will regroup and reincarnate in some other form .. always happens

Sounds like there is an opportunity to fill

wired on #nostr :-)

Soon Bitcoin magazine:

The 26 best ordinals to buy right now

They have fallen.

Always a struggle against complacency. Man's greatest enemy.

I blame the readers

Same thing can happen to nostr if we keep dumbing it down.

Twitter had such an immeasurable impact on society by giving individuals a voice in the public domain that the legacy media publishers’ incentives drove them to publish mediocrity to compete against influencers for click bait.

nostr has the chance to flip the whole script by rewarding publishers for the quality of their work rather than just the quantity of their page views.

A potential new dawn with an equal playing field for the best of humanity to rise to the top and be rewarded by the determination of any and everyone else.

Fiat press, writers, and publishing. Fiat ruins everything just ask nostr:npub10vlhsqm4qar0g42p8g3plqyktmktd8hnprew45w638xzezgja95qapsp42

Yes Walker talked about incentives having changed. We need to drive the change of the incentives through btc and nostr

Wired in the early 90’s was cool. This post makes me want to pick up the latest issue of 2600

Glad you haven’t gone that way 🫡

I think you bought into the hype. Wired was never really leet.

the guy who interviewed snowden for wired and considers himself a “leading expert on the nsa” is married to someone in the intelligence community she’s even directly nsa if i recall: that’s dc, that’s the IC, that’s “journalism.” not figuratively in bed, literally. they marry like that one inside one outside.

but atjack knows this b/c the fbi came and did same thing at twitter twatter so why he acting like he don’t know surprise surprise! like oh i didn’t know i wasn’t in that day i was at square.

Makes 100%$$ sense

Isn't it strange those who 'formally' lead organizations doing broad surveillance on American citizens - which supposedly was for our interest - make political claims in the media shortly after leaving their posts - but whistleblowers are discredited. Wonder how spy agencies became so important in politics. Pretty much bummed on both political parties and consider local non-violent communities the way.

agree. local communities is the way. we should have global digital currency like bitcoin; decentralized internet for broader communication and local “scrip” for buying our eggs & milk & pottery from our neighbors. during the great depression the US had thousands of currencies called scrip. we should do that again now. just ignore the IC & Fed. starve the candida don’t give it sugar (time/energy/attention).

🤡 🌎

I’d love to watch that kind of show for sure. 🤔

wired, boingboing... they all fell to the communist mindcontrol agenda long ago... i mean, nassim taleb, bruce schneier, cory doctorow... they all lost their spines for some reason, and started chanting slogans and engaging in two minutes of hate diatrtibes

:(

That’s bait to bring in a different audience. I still subscribe to their print magazine and the long form pieces are well researched and good.

really, while every second article is praising collectivism?

Hackers and cypherpunks don't sell magazines anymore - and people are barely buying magazines as it is.

The endless march of enshitification plods relentlessly onward.

Bitcoin fall bellow 57k after the halving due to the high volatility, and because of lack of skills and strategy most of you folks sell off with out of fear in the space,

thoughts on Napster 3.0 with Zaps??

They were hungry, lucky, and not buried in debt. Every story from the 80s and 90s sounds like a fairy tale today.
