Atlas and Perplexity have always felt to me like a clumsy step towards the GUI-less (or less GUI) future that AI enables.
Neither here nor there, but maybe the necessary step to prove that it works. Or maybe there's a gap in the market I can't see!
If AI takes over teaching, this is the likely timeline:
1️⃣ AI marking/work-checking goes mainstream → teachers get their evenings back
2️⃣ Work is anonymised + individual progress is tracked
3️⃣ Lesson plans plug into the system
4️⃣ AI sees which lessons work for which students based on individual progress and marking.
5️⃣ Students get personalised tasks, not one-size-fits-all worksheets
6️⃣ Student performance improves as tasks are personalised to develop their specific understanding.
7️⃣ Teachers spend more time on humans, less time on marking.
Doesn't need a revolution.
Just the right app.
