How does GNOME Contacts not support adding CardDAV accounts? Super annoying. Quick work around found tho, install and use Evolution to add CardDAV and CalDAV accounts and then just uninstall. Your DAV accounts will remain to be used with GNOME Contacts & Calendar and be able to sync just fine.

I can't remember the last time my nose wasn't completely stuffed. I've gotten so used to it since I was a kid that I hardly realize it now.

I believe I figured out how sync notes from Android via NotallyX. I'll find out if I can open them on PC and edit + sync in a few hours. As far as tasks go, that can be handled with Baïkal or any other CalDav+CardDav server. I'm sure you could technically do so with Syncthing but I took the easy way.

I've been looking at a Hawaiian shirt to add my dog and cats faces too. This reminds me of that.

Syncthing is working well for photos, .kdbx database and a few random test files. Baïkal is working with DAVx5 to sync my contacts and calendar to my Pixel 8 running GrapheneOS. Haven't got notes syncing yet. But these few things are all I really need synced to mobile.

Not sure why the WiFi on my Pixel 8 keeps turning off but it is beyond annoying. Not seeing anything in my settings that should be causing this. Maybe just a bug on GrapheneOS beta channel?

Seems to be working well enough. Syncthing is syncing my phones photos to server and PC. Syncing my .kdbx database file between phone & PC. Pretty sure I can get notes to sync easily enough. Using Baïkal to sync my contacts and calendar. Going to test this setup for a little while before I burn down Nextcloud.

Set #syncthing up on the server, laptop and phone. Going to test this setup for a few days and see if it will work for my needs. Successfully has synced my phone photos to server and computer. Syncing my .kdbx password database between my phone and PC. Syncing contacts and calendar with #baikal

Looking like #nextcloud is headed out soon. I've grown tired of the sync issues after I perform any kind of update.

Nextcloud is going. So tired if sync errors after any kind of update. I think I may just use Syncthing to sync my photos and notes between server, PC and mobile. Plenty of existing options to sync contacts.

wife:

"can I used your credit card to grab a couple last minute gifts? I won't spend much"

me: (hesitating slightly)

"ok, don't go crazy buying please"

wife:

"I'm not going to"

of course.

I'll answer for you. Yes. you can 100% disable mobile & WiFi and then use a wired Ethernet connection to connect an Android device to the internet.

my first distro was Ubuntu (Warty Warthog) followed shortly by Debian, where I mostly remain to this day.

I'm actually finding Gnome enjoyable since testing it again. I ran either XFCE or MATE set to mimic Gnome2 as closely as possible in the past, I may go back to that but I'm gonna see if I can tolerate the switch.

I try using and testing new Linux distros often but I always end up right back on Debian. I ran EndeavorOS (Arch base) on an old MacBook and Arch on a Pinephone for about a year but those ended up running Debian and Mobian respectively.

the concept of Fountain is awesome. It's a bit buggy tho and sometimes you don't get any sats even when it shows you're earning. I still try to mostly use it but keep Antenna Pod installed as well.

I hate that it's so hard to find a place that will rent if you have a dog. I have to get my family out of this building. Leaking roof for about a year, I went up into the stores office and am finding black mold growing now. Living week to week sucks. Never have received any kind of help, try to get some because I need it but nope, I make "to much money". Do I? Where is it all? 🤬
