I know where this reaction comes from, being imposed about a certain culture doesn't sit well for cypherpunks/bitcoiners. However, seed oils are bad for you and there's scientific evidence that they contribute to heart disease. It just isn't talked about because of incentives. It is another rabbit hole in itself but here's a pretty good overview to start: https://openheart.bmj.com/content/5/2/e000898

There's definitely a lot bullshit in the world, but avoiding seed oils isn't part of that.

I’ve been off Twitter and all social media except for Nostr for a month now, and the results are hard to argue with.

I’ve started reading real books again (4 this month) and have noticed both my patience and attention increase noticeably. I also feel less angry and anxiety daily, along with being committed to my workout routine.

I found that Nostr has met my social media needs, most importantly, my own ability to self-limit with it. Nostr is a bit ‘boring’ compared to traditional social media because ITS NOT TRYING TO KILL YOU!!!

Controlling your own data isn’t nearly as important in terms of ownership, as it is about allowing that information to be used against you. All of your most intimate thoughts and feelings are data mining by massive corporations specifically to find emotional triggers for you, so they can sell you shit, or force thoughts on to you.

Fuck these people that run these companies that farm our emotions to sell us shit, and to work with corrupt government to censor our speech, sell out dissidents, and destroy our internet.

We are much, much, much more powerful than they will ever be because we don’t need force, corrosion, or permission to run these systems of social connections that they cannot destroy.

My month of social media detox has really lifted the veil from the hate industry complex that are all social media companies today. Stop prostitution your content, thoughts and powers to these shitty companies that enrich the scum of the earth, and empower illegal, unconstitutional and immoral government agencies from their dragnet surveillance.

I’ll make one last tweet explaining this and then nuking my account in the next few weeks. Then I’ll be Nostr only.

Simply having been so busy in Riga for Nostriga + Baltic Honeybadger I haven't had the time to browse Twitter, and I can feel the difference. Perfect way to get rid of the Twitter addiction for good by continuing this way.

It's already a working protocol so it's worth to see if it sticks and keeps growing.

I agree that the currently altruistic relays aren't sustainable, they won't be able to store all the data for everyone for free with growing userbase. However I don't think nostr is doomed. But I think the end game has to be some kind of payed model if you wan't all your social history to be stored. Or all users storing their own data, acting as "mini relays", though I don't know if this is technically feasible.

What do you think?

Nostr is a breath of fresh air. Twitter algorithms keep feeding me baits of low IQ political content to a point it's becoming increasingly unpleasant. Here we can and will be able to choose our own algorithms - or build our own!

Well I guess there's a non-zero chance but then it would be KYCed at least.

Zaps on nostr are kind of a big deal, even though they might seem irrelevant to orange pilled bitcoiners. Legacy social media can't and never will allow V4V with bitcoin, so in that way nostr is infinitelly better compared to it.

General rule of thumb is to avoid oils that are highly processed and high in linoleic acid because it oxidizes easily which causes havoc in the body. Coconut is a good one, I think avocado too. Olive is fine, but you gotta be careful it's real, there's a lot of olive oils thar are diluted with soybeanoil.
