Also many clients -- in my experience including Amethyst, Damus, and Primal... don't show any content on first load! That's an insane way to try to onboard new people! Thata new user has to figure out what to tweak, just to get any content to load... insane...
Try setting up Amethyst from scratch and pretend you are a normie. You'll find that Amethyst doesn't have a way for you to upload a profile picture, you need to supply a URL! This is great for hackers but terrible for normies.
Running nostr:npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq with lightning address rizful@rizful.com
The eventual solution will be to flood Nostr with more stupid shit that normies will actually be interested in. But for now we can go with boobs.

Also - Freedom Tech maximalists getting offended is a sign that someone is creating Nostr software that a normie might actually be able to use. Sorry to break this to you.
Dude, sentry tracks ERRORS. I challenge you to release any decent consumer facing software without error capturing.
Testing and posting this from #Yakihonne nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q
Another amazing #nostr client šš½ā”ļøšÆ
We tested (I think) all the Nostr clients and ended up deciding to onboard our users with #yakihonne on all platforms.
Can we all please have a moment of silence for all of the $50,000 wine refrigerators owned by actors and private equity executives which are currently being vaporized across the West Side of LA
I just tried some test zaps to this user (rizful@rizful.com) from a secondary account, and it worked for me... also our automated test system isn't flagging any errors, however I'm definitely interested if you see any issues on your end.
Thanks, actually Rizful's primary purpose is to reliably receive zaps so if u have any problem zapping us, would be great if you could post the error message you get ;)
I suggest you test a user flow from a NEW user using Alby browser extension to provide the window.nostr
Here is what works for us.... A new user of the Alby browser extension must currently first go here:
https://metadata.nostr.com/# .. and enter AT LEAST ONE piece of metadata... after that is done, then Yakihonne will allow the user to get to Edit Profile
Thanks, ok I see that now.... this is using the "Create Account" flow. That does look good. But our onboarding steps start with the Alby browser extension, and we will have users "log in with extension"
nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q After some experimentation.. I think that "only" Yakihonne won't work currently for onboarding new users to Nostr. The workaround is this.... The user must FIRST go to https://metadata.nostr.com/ or another site where they can add some kind 0 data.... THEN, after some profile data exists, they can go back to Yakihonne, and it's THEN possible to get to the "Settings" page and click the "Edit profile" button....
nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q We're building a onboarding flow using Yakihonne and have reached a blocking problem I think. A totally new NOSTR user, as far as I can tell, is not able to modify their KIND 0 (zero) profile data. Please see image below. For both existing user and new users, clicking either (1) or (2) does not lead to any kind of ability to modify profile data, which is confusing. After much searching, I realized that, as long as there is EXISTING KIND 0 (zero) data on the network, I can click (3), and that will allow me to edit the metadata. However for a NEW nostr pubkey -- which has no existing metadata set, as far as I can tell it is currently impossible to add any of this metadata using Yakihonne. Clicking (4) does not seem to do anything.
on iOS, at least for an existing user, I am able to navigate to the "edit profile" page. I still need to check if it's possible to get there for new users also.

Switch to Alby Hub. It's solid tech.
nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q I want a smarter sort algorithm for the UI when I try to mention a user.
.. for example, here I typed "@yakih" and you can see the first suggestion is "seddkl".. which isn't ideal... I would think that you should order highest by username/alias, and add extra sort score (so those go more to the top...) to accounts that are nip-05 verified?

nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q I have a UI suggestion. I have found myself on both the web and iOS wanting an easy way to see "my notes" or "my posts" or "my profile" or something like that. Here is a rough screenshot showing that I want a link to this....
