Onion messages seem to be a concern, as well as the scope of the required supporting features. There has been activity on the issue recently though, and you can find a roadmap here:

Zapped from my raspi node tunnelled to a 5/mo VPS running nginx and rustdress
I’m currently syncing a new Bitcoin core node and using network attached storage.
I could easily go get an SSD and be done in a day or two, but I think I’ll just let it go at it’s current pace. I’ve got time.
I had a couple of channels at 0ppm for a while and not routing anything outbound. When I bumped the minimum up to 100, they started flowing almost immediately.
I knew that some payers were avoiding 0 fee channels.
No more sub 100ppm fees on The Wall unless you supply really stellar inbound flows.
The more noderunning experience I get, the more I dislike 0 fee on LN. Even ultra low fee bugs me.
Tunneling a private note to a VPS is the way!
Not possible as far as I know. Some nodes list it on their Amboss profile.
