Everyone saying custodial zaps are okay or that UX is too hard is wrong. We can do better and shouldn't settle for less.

Will have a PoC version ready later this week that should allow any self-custodial wallet to have a lightning address with minimal trust assumptions.

Lightweight lightning node?

Solutions, baby. This is the way. 🤙⚡

🔥

You are 100% correct and thank you for working on this.

Also, look out for the custodial Lightning address apologists. They do not take kindly to being called out for basically recreating the existing trusted 3rd party paradigm.

Sorry but I don't care about a Wallet of Satoshi Zap party.

Announcement of an announcement.

Now i have to do it lol

This is bitcoin. We shouldn't settle for less. Right on Carman, love this attitude!

wen PoC. Big Want

Just need to build the front end

Looking forward to this!

wow yet another spot where an authenticated async relay protocol would fix the problem

Eh, not the same benefits. This give you some privacy on lightning by not revealing your actual lightning node and can be later reworked for async payments so the user doesn't need to be online.

I was imagining the authentication to part prevents a zaptunnel relay from stealing, not for privacy

The zap tunnel can always just give it's own invoices if it wants to steal. You can't really prevent that

couldn’t that be prevented with a MAC from the destination on the invoice?

Lnurl doesn't really support anything like that

Looks like LUD 12 allows a comment where one could put a MAC associated with an invoice & nsec-derived key. nostr client could verify with the mac that the invoice came from a particular npub

Is this basically lnproxy + lnurl pay + nip-57?

yeah

I was super hoping you or Tony would make this. Looking forward to using it.
