Fair. After I had synced fully I was very silly and executed a 'Repair' command on my node that essentially reverified UTXOs. This process also hit a significant slowdown at about 80% to completion, which I'd wager correlates with the spike in UTXOs in early 2023.

When I synced my node things slowed down considerably as I got further in - is it the UTXOs count upticking or is it the number of transactions per block? Elaborate plz.

True and I ended up facilitating Nostr for myself on accident in my pursuit of self-broadcasting on layer 1 - I just happened to stand up the lightning node too and realize how awesome Nostr is once you have all your toys

Shame cause it's kind of fun. But then, it takes a pretty deep maxi or very curious hobbyist to end up self-hosting.
If they're anything like me, not many.
Nostr made almost no sense to me until I reached full/lightning node operator status. The legwork of linking a random lightning wallet to a random social media client was asking too much (not to even mention key management). That or it KYC'd me too hard and fast as an all-in-one for me to find it appetizing.
Nostr became self evident as I became self sovereign and the tools that facilitate smooth usage opened up to me.
