#Voptop goes #Qt6 even on Microsoft Windows! And from 32bit to 64bit.
#Voptop goes #Qt6. There is a lot more work to do, especially the hole media recording part need to be re-written. There are heavy changes from qt5 to qt6. But it was necessary, the multimedia backend in qt5 was horrible.
Since some silence for a longer time, there are good news. Thanks to AI, there was a very small but important bugfix made in the #Voptop relay/gateway and is already deployed. Maybe or hopefully this was the last deadlock in the Voptop-Server implementation.
The #Voptop website is now part of the #nostr world it self. From today #nostr is linked on the website with a follow button and a view onto the voptop nostr profile. Thankts to nostr:npub1qsvv5ttv6mrlh38q8ydmw3gzwq360mdu8re2vr7rk68sqmhmsh4svhsft3 and his lib (https://nostr-components.web.app) for integrating #nostr into the "old" web.
Re-launch of the #Voptop website. The website is now an static angular app and no #PHP is used anymore. The website looks mostly like the old, because it is a reimplementation of the old one. https://www.voptop.com

From today on #Voptop is publishing on the SN-Media relay (ws://nostr-relay.sn-media.com). SN-Media is basically the mother company behind #Voptop
After successfully building and deploying #core22, I decided to give #core24 a chance and it's working perfectly! So latest/edge is now on core24 and will replace the main release in the #snapcraft app store very soon.
After building and deploying #Voptop to the #snapcraft store successfully based on #core20, I made a packe on #core22 as well and it looks good. Currently it's just deployed to latest/edge but will replace the #core20 based soon, just a little more testing.
Today I fixed some bugs in the #snappy package which caused a crash of the hole desktop environment on #wayland. Know #Voptop runs on #Ubuntu 24.04. The new package ist based on #core20.
Currently #Voptop snappy package gets an update to core20, because the old core18 is outdated and is not supported anymore.
Voptop on core20 has some issues with the audio samplerate, we are working on it.
#Voptop got a new little update and is available again in latest/edge for all user which have it installed as #snappy.
The update fixes a crash on recording audio with a mono microphone and a little bug in the contact list management.
Just three days after this post and the bug has shown again. But the improved debug logging helped and so it looks like it is identified and fixed now.
The bug hasn't shown up since more than a month. So it seems to be fixed. The logging will be keeped and if the bug shows up again, I have some utils to hunt it down.
Improved logging helped a lot! Now, one month and a week later the bug has shown again and I have much more information to haunt the bug down. Bug is pretty much located, but not understood totally by me, I think (hope) it will be fixed tomorrow.
#Voptop client got some fixes for high resolution display's, now Voptop looks good on #UHD/4K to. The fix will be deployed very soon! Screenshot was made on #Windows11
This was successful at all! From now there will be nightly builds in the latest/edge chanel of the snapcraft store. If you like to use a more stable Version just use latest/stabel, latest/candidate or maybe latest/beta.
Today is infrastructure day! Voptop will get automatic build and deploy infrastructure with help of an #Jenkins. From today the #Voptop build, packaged as #snappy and released to the #snapcraft store will be automated.
