Absolutely!

So if you’re reviewing every 2-3 years and acting accordingly you’ll be fine

If you want to create storage for your unborn grandchildren that will survive half a century without intervention you’ll need a different approach

Seed words/passphrases punched into stainless steel washers or plates are about as durable and lowtech as it gets i think

Lopp has excellent reviews of seed storage devices against acid, fire and pressure tests - good proxies for time

Very much depends upon timeframe Lyn:

If you’re looking to safely secure over a handful of years, hardware wallets are a good option and there are many to choose from

I contend they are a poor choice for long term (decades or generations) because hardware devices *and their interfaces* are notoriously short lived

If bitcoin had been around when i started in IT, the most secure storage was archive-quality mag-tape. Step back just a decade, and the best was likely CD/DVDs .. now think about the last two computers you acquired - does either have a DVD drive?

What about SD card readers? They were popular for a while and many computers included slots for them - today, not so much.

Core point is that todays hardware wallet, may be difficult to access in a decade or two simply because tech and interfaces evolve. As a recent example consider the new iPhone which has now finally switched to a standard USB-C port instead of the apple proprietary one.

So for short/medium term, hardware wallets are useful as signing devices, but never to be relied upon for long term security.

IMO, for that longer term security you must store the seed and passphrases on very low-tech solutions.

The various flavours of federal agents were shown to have acted illegally and unlawfully, and these claims - *especially* the one relating to having hired people to commit murder - were completely debunked at trial. Vanity Fair, along with many other outlets at the time were happy to make coin out of the allegations, but funnily enough, didn't then follow up with clarifications from what emerged from the trial. A sad travesty.

Good morning all. It’s a rainy morning with a hot cup of ☕, a clear mind and some light jazz. Some moment of peace before work chaos begins.

Today marks another year I lost my dad. I was fortunate to grow up with a wonderful father. He pushed his way out of extreme poverty to get us to middle class. He was a forklift driver who did his bachelors at 40, and went all the way to earn double doctorate with one in theology. He spent the last decade of his life focusing on church and helping the poor and illiterate communities. He set up a Bible college that is now ran by the local pastors community of churches. Growing up I didn’t like being called the pastor’s daughter (the expectations! lol) but I’m really proud of being my father’s daughter. It’s always a comfort and a reminder when I feel a little lost and scared.

My dad was wise, kind and funny. When we started working and earning, there were many things we did to spoil our parents - like holidays and latest gadgets (my dad loved tech). But I wish I did more for his health. While some illness have no cure, in his case, it could have been prevented with the right healthcare, diet, and exercise.

I learnt along the way that your body is just a vessel. Get it fixed in whichever way you can. It’s the person that matters the most. When the body dies, it’s game over. The person dies with it and there’s no turning back, no second chances, no more memories in the making. I’m grateful my mom’s health today is at her finest. But there is so much more I want to achieve so that I can do more for my family and everyday, that’s the only thing that keeps me going.

Here’s to another day, as difficult as it can get. May it take us closer to all our dreams

You are your parents’ blessing Pam

Was so so good. Full on. So much building going on and so much needed - fantastic bear market conference vibes - my fave type

Congratulations Lyn - been patiently waiting for this :-)

Excited to see this too but disappointed zero availability in Australia on Amazon for hardback and softcover; any other sites we can buy direct from .. pay with sats maybe?
