I’d say just send him enough to use Lightning first rather than onchain first. Lightning is as good as cash app but it’s custodial!
Maybe then it’s on an exchange. Coinbase for example.
Hate to say it, but the bitcoin could be so many places… of course you’ll be the best judge, but if it is truly a small amount, then I’m sure time spent getting the music would be more cathartic 🫂

So I typed “@“ and then immediately “Matth” and by then his account showed up for me to select. I follow him already so it was easy. You could also type “@ followed by BitcoinUniversity to pull his account up for tagging.

This happened to me once, no idea why it can get so stuck. It’s like midway through spinning the spool they put glue in the filament instead of PLA.
