In 1850, a farmer found a secret village. It was later determined to be older than the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Archeologists estimated that 100 people lived in this village named Skara Brae, the "Scottish Pompeii."
The houses were connected to each other by tunnels, and each house could be closed off with a stone door.

Here an amazing tip for weather forecasting ☀️
Nothing is easier than hanging a pine cone on a string. When it’s open, the weather is good; when it closes, bad weather is coming. Predicting the weather is useful for the garden. It’s simple and it works, I’ve been doing this for years 😊🌲
The Kelpies, towering 30 meters high, are striking horse-head sculptures that represent kelpies, the shape-shifting water spirits of Scottish lore. These magnificent structures are situated between Falkirk and Grangemouth, adjacent to a new extension of the Forth and Clyde Canal and near the River Carron, within The Helix parkland. This project was developed to connect 16 communities within the Falkirk Council Area in Scotland. Sculpted by the talented Andy Scott, The Kelpies stand as a majestic gateway to the eastern entrance of the Forth and Clyde Canal and the new canal extension, part of the incredible Helix land transformation project. These awe-inspiring sculptures pay homage to Scotland's proud horse-powered heritage, honoring the hardworking beasts that were essential to the country's economic growth for centuries. Standing an impressive 30 meters tall and weighing a colossal 300 tons, these monuments symbolize the immense significance of these animals in Scotland's history.

One hectare of hemp produces 25% more oxygen than one hectare of forest, ensuring an approximately double supply of cellulose. One hectare of hemp grows in 6 months. By manufacturing hemp paper we could save millions of hectares of forest every year. Hemp can be used in textile production, construction and even as biofuel. 😍

Some facts about bamboo:
1.Fast Growth: Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant in the world. It has been recorded at growing 47.6 inches in 24 hours. Some species can even grow over a meter per day under optimal conditions. A new bamboo shoot reaches its full height in less than a year.
2. Oxygen Release: A grove of bamboo releases 35% more oxygen than any other tree out there.
3. Carbon Dioxide Absorption: Bamboo absorbs carbon dioxide at a rate of 17 tons per hectare every year. It can act as a valuable carbon sink given how fast the plant grows.
4. No Fertilizer Required: Bamboo doesn’t need fertilizer to grow. It can self-mulch by dropping its leaves and use the nutrients to grow.
5. Drought Resistance: Bamboos are drought-tolerant plants. They can grow in the desert.
6. Wood Replacement: Bamboos can be harvested in 3-5 years compared to the 20-30 years of most softwood trees.
7. Building Material: Bamboo is incredibly strong and sturdy. It has been used as support for concrete as well as scaffolding, bridges, and houses.
8. Soil Stability: Bamboo has a wide network of underground roots and rhizomes that prevent soil erosion.
9. Natural Air Conditioner: Bamboo cools the air surrounding it by up to 8 degrees in the summer.
10. Invasiveness: Some species of bamboo, especially ‘running’ bamboos, can be invasive due to their extensive root systems, which allow them to spread rapidly. However, not all species are invasive, and with proper management, the environmental impact can be minimized.

Hamilton Pool Reserve is a recreation destination located in the Texas Hill Country west of Austin. Advance reservations are required to visit, and it is open for hiking and sightseeing. Hamilton Pool is a natural pond created when the dome of an underground river collapsed due to massive erosion thousands of years ago. The pool is located about 23 miles (37 km) west of Austin, Texas off Interstate 71. Since the 1960s, Hamilton Pool has been a popular summer swimming spot for Austin visitors and residents. Hamilton Pool Preserve consists of 232 acres (0.94 km2) of protected natural habitat that includes a jade green pool over which a 50-foot (15 m) waterfall cascades and water temperatures reach 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
The pool is surrounded by large slabs of limestone located at the water's edge. Large stalactites grow from the high ceiling. The roof and cliffs surrounding the grotto are home to mosses, ferns and rock swallows. The Ash Juniper (Cedar) highlands of the reserve are home to the endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler.
