Last night I went to a family event after bitdevs, and my mom blurts out that i was late because i was coming from a bitcoin meetup. A lot of people were interested but had no knowledge, so i gave a talk for over 1 hour to the whole room. We talked bitcoin fundamentals, separating money from state, kyc vs non-kyc, and its humanitarian impact (my aunt from ukraine really liked that part). Overall, almost everybody there seemed to like the idea and wanted to learn more. I referred them to “The Bitcoin Standard” of course. Down the rabbit hole they go. Very fun night.
My takeaway is that this broken system is the best orange piller. A lot of people are realizing that fiat/money printing is terrible and want to learn about solutions. If my aunts/uncles that are 60+ years old are interested in bitcoin, then so many people must be interested. The tides are turning.
