How the tables have turned
A friend of mine did, but don’t how far.
But he had a good time.
When others fall over, what’s the common problem?
Writes or reads/filter requests?
My assumption is reads since different filters by the various clients need to be handled?
Is this a Postgres? What specs do you need to run it smoothly?
#Bitcoin for unstoppable money
#Cashu for unstoppable anonymous transactions
#nostr for unstoppable speech
Cashu adds a high level of privacy to #Bitcoin.
But it also requires trust.
(Custodial LN does so too. So, nothing new.)
It works much like the initial, gold backed central bank and cash system.
Mint: you give gold/sats, receive paper/ecash
Melt: you give paper/ecash, receive gold/sats
Use: trade paper/ecash for goods and services
Trust:
- the bank/ecash mint to (1) return gold/sats for paper/ecash, (2) not expand the supply of paper/ecash
- yourself: if you lose the paper/ecash tokens, it's gone (much like cash, but I think Cashu is working on a backup-restore process)
Cashu mints could become the banks of the new world but with much better attributes:
- easy to spin up
- no accounts required (no KYC)
- ecash tokens can be tied to #Bitcoin
- WIP: better transparency. It's code. There are projects trying to solve the "trust requirements"
(I'm learning and thinking in the open.
Please correct me if I got anything wrong.)

Feedback wanted 👇🧡
I was trying to create some visuals that help one understand how inflating the monetary supply dilutes your fiat savings account.
Any feedback or ideas on how to make this better is welcome!

#Bitcoin
Depends on how big his stack is.
Spend $1M to create FOMO and make your stack go up in USD value by X?
I don’t think he’ll really lose anything (except for not buying more BTC with that $1M and wait for organic growth).
„Everything is good for #Bitcoin“
Still true to this day.
> An unstable coin is shit too right?
Depends on what is the reference to compare it’s stability to, right?
E.g. Bitcoin is stable when looking at money supply (never more than 21 mio; 1 sat = 1 sat).
However, It is not stable when comparing it’s purchasing power to, say, USD or EUR at this point in time (and maybe never will be).
But generally, I know what you are meaning to say and would agree to that 👌
There’s two ways to „get on zero“:
Pro actively: turn Fiat into precious #Bitcoin and move to cold storage.
Passively: leave fiat sitting in your bank account and wait for the banking system to fail.
Up to you.
Godspeed.

Has this to do with SVB?
Seems to be a ripple effect but don’t know yet.
