I think there is a distinction between a conversation and a post. In the context of online content broadcasting, you may have put a lot of time and effort into creating a chart, graphic, video, or long form post and it's encouraging for folks who appreciate the effort to tip you some value in order to show appreciation for the effort.
In a conversation though, it does seem strange to give little bits of value to participants who are engaging with thoughts/ideas.
Happy celebration of successful treason day!!!
Glad he's free and got to spend this special day with you. Happy Birthday Julian!
It's probably dead either completely or in spirit.
I used to mine feathercoin back in the day. WTF was I thinking?
The way I see future world of Bitcoin:
Small minority of wealthy self sovereign Bitcoiner's.
Cambrian explosion of fintech innovation with a variety of banking/trust models. Majority of world populace will use the most convenient services, most likely custodial, but they will utilize some version of ecash.
Forward looking and ambitious world leaders will drive adoption in their countries, while the incumbent powers will be slower to adopt.
Some may even try to completely stamp out adoption, but Bitcoin will eventually win due to the desire of the populace to use it.
Weaker fiats will die as they are consumed by stronger currencies, mainly USD. USD will eventually be abandoned as the global currency and USTs as the global reserve asset and both will be replaced by Bitcoin.
These will likely take a generation or more to play out, but this is the rough sketch of my vision of the future. Will be a chaotic ride, but I think we will pull through (barring nuclear war or some other apocalyptic catastrophe).
The US 2party election system is a joke and undemocratic. US citizens should know that there is another option, RFKJr! ask yourself why he is silenced by either party and most if not all news agencies worldwide? ask yourself why his father and uncle were assassinated? you might want to check the real debate on X with RFKJr:

Vote wisely, a vote for change is a vote for RFKJr
Ps: RFKJr was the first candidate that mentioned that blockchain and AI incl. bitcoin need to stay in the US as it will boost US economics
The US is a uniparty state. The GOP is the heel larping as the face.

After Thursday’s presidential debate, I have a tough time relating to or wanting to be a part of any politics. I’ve been feeling this for quite some time and haven’t really supported any political candidate from either party since 2016. I sure as hell won’t support Donal Trump, I’d like Biden to step down, the DNC is corrupt, and the progressive wing of the Democratic Party is a laughable sideshow that’s ineffective and grasping for relevance.
I am left leaning ideologically and politically, and obviously while I’m feeling this and running nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld I can have mixed feelings about the title/brand. Can the progressive bitcoiner take on and be an identity of its own, calling those to embrace a new “progressive,” forward thinking view with Bitcoin? I don’t know, but many on the left are still absolutely repulsed by bitcoin and closed off based on tribal, group think. It’s disappointing to say the least. Is the title or risk of distraction worth it, considering the normie left isn’t tuning in as I desired anyway?
Bitcoin is millions of miles above this silly politicking and left/right divide. It is so much bigger, and more important, than all of this. My hope with the pod is that it has presented diverse content and helped people feel seen and heard that don’t typically resonate with the right/libertarian dominate crowd in bitcoin, not to divide.
My feelings on all of this may lead to a rebrand of the pod (removing political labels). It may not. I want to be very intentional either way, and my focus remains the same of wanting to highlight what I think are the most import things in bitcoin: human rights, mining and the environment, social justice, basic tech understandings, Bitcoin for everyone and global freedom money, etc.
The reality is that it makes little difference who gets elected as president. USG does it's thing regardless.
Truth is, who sits in the oval office doesn't matter all that much. It's more like celebrity drama, a circus to trick the voting populace into thinking they have some say in how the government is run.
I introduce my younger brother to Bitcoin almost a decade ago. After a time, he went to work for Coinbase and has since become a major crypto bro. He still owns and appreciates bitcoin, but he sees the crypto space as the future. He even co-founded a recently released token project and is a giant whale of the shitcoin.
My brother and I convinced my dad (a rich boomer) to buy some Bitcoin a few years ago, and my brother also got him to buy some ETH. Now my dad is starting to buy some of these new tokens even as the value has steadily dropped since the launch. I don't feel like I need to tell him to dump that shit since it's not a meaningful amount of money for him. I also feel like time will be the ultimate teacher as Bitcoin continues to rise in value and the shitcoin goes to nothing.
Nah, it's gonna be Trump v. Biden. Biden is going strong to the end.
I used to follow a vegan diet, I have a soft spot for animals. But man, was it hard and in the end I realized that there's a reason meat tastes so good.
The best part about open source is that anyone can improve on ideas created by another without permission which speeds up innovation. Free and open information drives innovation faster than patent trolling. Needless to say, I am not a fan of IP.
The chinese economy is built on peddling plastic junk to mindless american consumers. What a world we live in.
