I was today years old when I really realized something.
When I really think about it... technically I destroyed opportunities for other kids and didn't even take it in the end.
Coincidentally, he was one of the "smart kids" that I had accidentally bumped out of a gifted program a few years prior. He went to a different school for a couple of years and then came back. I had opted out of the gifted program. No other students got a chance.

* we got Fs on the assignment
* it became our thing - to conjure up the most convoluted sentences
They'll learn a lesson in a couple of days. The best way to deal with someone like that is leave them waiting when they expect a heated reply quickly. Then hit them with something unexpected.
