On the path to find the meaning of my life, my best self, and enjoy the path

Am I the only one annoyed by this?

Consumerism:

Society with the goal of unsustainable and unnecessary consumption.

Consumerism makes little to zero sense.

Why do we have to push comsumption above the border of sustainability?

Debt is a way to make a future spending now. In theory, in order to be able to spend a bigger amount now, you accept the fact that you will have less to spend later. Debt generates extra consumption. This extra comsumption is a comsumption from the future happening now. In theory this consumption shall not happen in the future, because debt shall be paid back. Therefore debt is sustainable.

But debt is used to enhance the economy. If the economy has to reach a target rate of inflation, it means, it has to create a certain amount of debt each year that is never paid back. As the debt is someone's asset, this person will never get back his money. This also means there shall be an extra consumption each year that is never "equaled" due to perpetual creation of debt.

But where is this money coming from? What resources of Earth are getting used up by this extra consumption? What happens to the lenders of the debt?

If you create a hypothetical system, where you steal from people. Would you create laws to make people feel safe from stealing?

Build. Earn. Save. Repeat.
