I heard that there is an ongoing movement now for people that truly care about decentralization and censorship-resistance to only publish to small relays.

And how to discriminate good / bad relays in general, regardless the size?

I see many conversations about bit/small relays but no one is

1. making a list of actual relays

2. define - in general terms - how to discriminate big and small

3. what other considerations are worth doing in picking a relay?

4. how many relay to set in a client is good number?

Yes, there is the Blastr relay which sends your note to all possible relays in existence. This is not a solution to anything, though, it's just a terrible idea. If all you want is engagement and not to build a good Nostr then you can just publish to the top 3 relays and you'll be good.

Yesterday I did watch Margin Call. For some reason I never did before.

Today I am watching Wall Street (1987).

First real speech / dialogue in the movie, after Charlie Sheen's entrance, is an older guy that looks like straight out of the early 50s:

Uneducated comment: is there a nip or a way for propagate more relays to clients via other relays?

In torrent the more I'm connected to the network the more peers I discover. Does this happen or can happen or have even sense at all in Nostr?

One small annoying UX "issue" is that to close images I have to climb my phone up to the top.

Commands should always be ob the bottom. According to my own rules :)

In fact default ux on my android is to press the "back arrow" on bottom left to perform this sort of action.

That does not happen when I add it to Proton contacts, obviously.

Do you have a "workaround" for this? Or a possible solution?

Android coding is a constant reminder of how much performance relies on you knowing the exact inner workings of your environment:

Today's case: `array.toList()` is 4x(!!) slower than `listOf(array)` to return exactly the same thing.

But don't worry, there is also `array.asList()`, which is just 2x slower and `Arrays.asList` which is slighly faster than `listOf`.

This is not confusing at all.

Good habit is to define your own abstraction in some "commons" module and always use it, and never rely directly on other libs.

At least progressively aim to that standard.

GrapheneOS Current Android QPR2 Bluetooth Compatibility statement:

Due to mainline modules, the Stock Pixel OS is currently using a much older release of the Bluetooth module than the current release in the Android Open Source Project without current security patches. We believe this is the reason for remaining issues not occurring for stock.

The remaining compatibility issues with a small number of devices such as the past couple generations of Galaxy Watch hardware appear to be the consequence of the March security patches and other changes in QPR2. There's a solid chance the Bluetooth devices are what's buggy.

GrapheneOS is on Bluetooth module version 990090000 from the Android 14 QPR2 release. Stock Pixel OS is still using 341313030, without tags available for that. Needs to be addressed even if simply by tagging the older Bluetooth module release being separately built/shipped.

Proton mail (and calendar and the rest of the suite) are so good and getting better every month.

Feels good to be there since there was only email - with the old interface :)

Feels good to pay the yearly subscription rather than using "free" services from the Google-alike.
