Is there another desktop or mobile app where I can import a taproot mnemonic seed with passphrase, other than Sparrow? #Bitcoin #Wallet
I have tech savy friends in their 30s who - to this day - do not understand this.
It takes time. Still my point is just they will come before their global adversaries like China and Iran and Russia. And before "Europe".
We are witnessing this happening in real time, and sooner than I expected to be fair.
Isn't this the 5th times BRICS (LOL) is announcing a Swift alternative in the past few years? I have to check but, oh well, who cares?
https://watcher.guru/news/brics-officially-announces-financial-system-similar-to-swift
Building a Swift alternative is incredibly complicated as a task per se. It becomes impossible when the countries that want to build it are marketing friends but actual enemies.
This makes no sense obviously and it would make so much more sense to just use Bitcoin as international monetary backbone... But they won't.
Americans will come first. Bitcoin is more suited to americans as they are still to this day the most individualistic and messianic civilization. BRICS (LOL) is mostly collectivist countries.
This is why America will get there first.
It is becoming more and more evident these days with many politicians endorsing Bitcoin, even a few years before I did "predict".
A most important week
* July 22nd: Taproot assets over Lightning.
* July 25th: Proton Wallet
* July 25th: Alby Hub - Lightning custodial Wallet (and more)
* July 27nd: Trump speech at The Bitcoin Conference
* July 31st: It's over ninet... - BTC difficulty over 90T
Tomorrow, The Chasm.

You are here:

That's not true.
They are different and most importantly target totally different people. Proton has the chance to do a great service to Bitcoin in bringing in those people and we should be grateful.
What is amazing and should be celebrated is that in the same day we got both Proton Wallet and Alby Hub.
You mean Germany, maybe. Not Europe.
Europe is a geographical space not a country, not a people.
Europe can't do anything as it is an inanimate object, not a subject.
What would be the nostr way to achieve that? And why signing records would be required here? Or a problem if it was required?
Firefox has such a feature, to copy links without site tracking.
Lol. Where?
The term "americano" for coffee is a problem almost everywhere
having decentralised app that people "can't" use is also bad ð
What I am saying is to leave the option, at least as first. When Nostr gets to 100x today's weekly active users it will be different.
Pushstr? ðĪ
I am considering moving Amethyst's Push Notification features to a separate app. If that "decentralization" becomes a thing on Nostr, multiple Nostr clients can use just one Push Notification App that keeps downloading of all events citing the user and forwarding to each local client, including the local relay.
When a notification arrives, the Push App pings your preferred Signer app to decrypt it and shows it on the system tray. If you click on the notification, it opens the Nostr event in your preferred Nostr Client for that event.
The good part is that multiple "Push" apps can exist with different ways to address the need for push notifications (using Google Services, NFTY, etc)
Then we would have broken down into Amber (Signer), Citrine (Local Relay), Amethyst (and other clients) and the Push App.
What do you think? nostr:nprofile1qqs827g8dkd07zjvlhh60csytujgd3l9mz7x807xk3fewge7rwlukxgpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qgswaehxw309ahx7um5wghx6mmd9usjfpck
My immediate concern is that for the majority of people having to install and learn multiple apps to use one service is probably overwhelming.
I would start in refactoring all possible push code out if amethyst into an agnostic package and build pushstr as optional for amethyst.
When you want to buy new clothes for yourself don't and go to the gym instead.
When you want to design a modal or popup window in your webapp don't and design a full page instead.
Well, so be it, leave them to their destiny.
F-Droid will never become relevant anyway, and Gitlab is a useless service.
And nostr:npub10r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7stjt2p8 and Obtanium are better.
Apparently everything is back and request is merged.
I'll give it a shot ð
The West has become US + western european countries in 1945 because US invaded and conquered Italy and Germany and took over the UK empire and what was left of France and the rest of european nations. All of them, in one form or the other. The eastern countries for obvious reasons just after 1990.
Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and so on are sovereign countries. Italy, Germany are not, or not completely at least. As is not Japan - which despite a very different history and ethnicity is sometimes considered part of the "collective west".
The West is really the "cultural" or "soft power" name for American Empire. As Nato is the military name. European Union is the legislative / economic facade of basically the same thing, plus the convenient "one phone number to call them all".
Nothing is indeed determined by race - or let alone religion. Both are just a tool used if and when needed, to project power.
Is not a cultural thing, but a "power" thing. US conquered most of europe in the past 80 years, because Europe for many reason was and still is the most important geographical area on the planet. The same thing cannot be said for south america which is why the current status quo in terms of US influence (or cultural assimilation) did not change and is not going to be in the coming decades. It's more than enough to keep the area in chaos enough so no regional power can emerge. This is one of the very few permanent US geo-strategic objectives, everywhere since almost forever. That's the reason why US did fought 2 WWs and one cold war to keep Europe from another power to take over (Germany, USSR or god-forbid a combination of the two) and is why is still fighting the proxy war in Ukraine today.
No one that can see behind the very thin curtains should be surprised in any way that the US government wants their hand in *everything* that has potential geo-strategic implication. Internet has. Social Networks have. GAI has.
There is no US empire, no globalization, no pax americana and no US as we know it for the last 100 years without all of that (and many more things)
It is either that or someone else doing the same things but more and better and become dominant. That's the way it is and has always been, with just someone else in US place.
Well, so be it, leave them to their destiny.
F-Droid will never become relevant anyway, and Gitlab is a useless service.

Is there a nostr-based service like Pocket https://getpocket.com ? Just a browser addon to send a webpage to a read-it-later list, already formatted for easy reading without the website clutter.
To be very clear: when i say "nobody believe that"... technically is the opposite ð
Nobody that can actually think, knows history (the one that did not start with the last current thing... actual History), can see behind the curtains of obvious rhetorical talks...
Which technically is basically nobody. Most of the rest do not have the interest, the tools, access to information or, well, the will and reasoning capabilities.
So in a sense the "spreading democracy" narration / mission is a tool. In a sense it actually is what moves the US. It's made up? Yes. It's the deep real reason? No. Still it has impact or US would have not become what it is. No Empire can without an actual universal mission.
