I don't try too hard to orange pill people but a friend asked me what gives Bitcoin value? I may have overdone it with my response, but I gave him my best attempt at describing what money is, the history of money, the problems with money today, how it disincentivizes war, can make homes affordable, not devalue your savings, how energy tethers it to the physical world, humans rights..the whole shebang. Ngl it was quite an essay but I did the best I could at giving him as much context as I could without writing a book or telling him to go read a book. And to be honest I was quite proud of myself with how much info I was able to fit in. Took me two hours to respond.
