I'm sorry to hear that :(
NIPs aren't holy scripture. A lot of times you can just do your own thing.
Do you think people hear about a project you are working on and make a NIP to stiffle you?
I can relate to where you might be coming from. I was working on a tool for quite a while and then a draft NIP dropped with a basic reference implemenation, which caused a bunch of rework if I wantednto be compatible.
I don't think anyone was trying to stiffle me but just wanted to see some progress in a problem space so had a go and opened a nip to start the discussion.
Do clients need any special filters to return historic versions of replaceable events?
I love/hate Semantic Versioning. Should a new major version means it g̶o̶t̶ ̶m̶u̶c̶h̶ ̶b̶e̶t̶t̶e̶r̶ broke compatibility?
There seems to be a trend of clients running a local relay, which gathers and backups events. I heard nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s discuss saving backups of profile events locally through this and nostrdb.
This was always meant to be a temporary fix as it has a fundamental floor in that it required users to regularly log on to it.
It should use blaster to send it to any relay that will listen. Either that is down or relays have blocked mutiny's blaster instance
It is possible that you hadn't visited the site since you had much fewer people
My profile is restored, thanks to nostr:npub15qydau2hjma6ngxkl2cyar74wzyjshvl65za5k5rl69264ar2exs5cyejr's Nostr Profile Manager, https://metadata-contacts-relays.pages.dev/ 😁
Its also available at https://metadata.nostr.com
Did you go to the contact list section as well.aa the profile?
Perhaps offering a range of interoperable UXs would prevent it from becoming such a stark either/or choice?
How can we create repository management and contribution UX using nostr which compete with Github without replicating the 'cathedral' qualities?
philosophically, nostr aligns more with the 'bazaar' model.
Interesting article describing the GitHub fork/PR model as 'cathedral' and git patch model as 'bazaar'
Dumping some nip34 thoughts:
1) maintainer opt-in feature
2) allow list or WoT based
3) must be clearly communicated to potential contributors in clients
4) could specify rules that could be implemented in a ci environment via a DVM. Eg. Must add or update tests, or must pass standard ci pipelines. A DVM could run the checker against the PR/patch set and respond with a specific comment before the PR gets shown publicly and to the maintainers.
Lol, I just said as much in response to your other reply.
nostr:npub1m3xdppkd0njmrqe2ma8a6ys39zvgp5k8u22mev8xsnqp4nh80srqhqa5sf has a client and an upload tool I've used to create test notes.
He's added the whole "Zettel" aspect, which is 🤌, and I want to try loading some NIPs in, so that we can see how it all works and maybe make some adjustments.
I'm just going to move the NIPs all over to notes.
I'm going to move yours, too. Fight me. LOL
I'd love to see the evaluation of the validity of a NIP, or a version of a NIP, scored in terms for ACK and nACKs from my WoT, clients implemented, clients that actively break it, etc. That would be more useful than whether it gotbmerged or not.

What's the client called? Do you have a link?
