Oh gotcha. Okay. It's gratifying to figure it all out but #asknostr is great for general questions if you're ever stuck😊

I've seen a lot of pix posted from primal end up sideways, so it might be something on their side, like not handling certain image sizes correctly. That gets a little out of my wheelhouse but I think it's possible its not you, just an early development thing.

It’s not the apps, it’s me. Been on Nostr over a year- locked self out original account🥹. Learning how to navigate. People made me feel welcome and all. I just am grasping how to use em. Damus & Nostr seem more dev like - Primal just starting so need to practice using hashtags - & got to learn how to post pics

Using Nostr for content creation/publishing is currently like a musician playing to an empty auditorium that is only halfway constructed, still has exposed wiring, and no food vending or functional bathrooms. The only audience are a couple of your friends, the construction workers, a few homeless people who camped out, and a handful of curious lookie-loos who pop their heads in from time to time. It really requires dedication to the vision of what Nostr could potentially become to devote substantial time here. Grateful for those who do so.

I stumbled onto Nostr a 2 years or so ago. i’m the old lady who bought 3 whole Bitcoin in 2016 & sold em, yeah. I yse to watch the news😑. Been on the peripheral til 2021. Vewy overwhelming for someone coming from Twitter thinking I knew web3. I know a little more now but still fumble. I have Damus & Now I am on Primal some, just getting my feet wet. It’s a huge learning curve for some of us and people have always been welcoming here. I keep coming back. I’m on Lens mostly and sometimes DeSo. Being in a “ warehouse” of building tech with bugs and crashes, it takes someone who believes in decentralization & the principles that come with that. Most people don’t know what Testflight or beta is!!? I had to learn. I knew nothing. Right now, I am leaving so many people behind by their choice due to they would rather X than ostrich. I realize I created Onboard60 not to onboard other senior citizens but to onboard myself. The intensive dyor, curriculum I created, the conferences I went to thinking it was to get others my age here too. It’s shattering, sadly.

If you mean in another person's general feed, most are chronological so it would depend on how many people they follow, how often all those people post, how often you post... and how far back the other person scrolls. There are some tailored "trending" type feeds that all work differently, too, on various apps.

If you mean how long your own notes on your own profile remains visible there... as long as you write to good, reliable (often paid) relays, your notes should remain visible for anyone who reads from those relays as long as they are running as intended.

Hello world - I got a new phone and after a year of being on Nostr, with no private key( my bad) and phone not recognize, I am starting a new account. I’m the old person who is learning how to do all this as I go and I got a long way to go. I even wrote a behind the scenes raw book of my last two years. I took my journals and made them into a book. I wrote about being scammed, my fairy godmother, speaking at a conference and so much more. I also am that old lady who bought 3 whole bitcoin in 2016 and sold them cos I listened to main stream media back then, yeah, what a fool, I know, but live and learn? That’s what I’m doing, experiential learning and encouraging other older people to get onboard. Thanks for reading
