I feel like I am emotionally preparing myself for what we are going to be witness to in Raffah. I have no faith left in leaders to stop it. And I am so sorry for Palestinians and all those who will be lost forever.
Americans still believe Biden when he speaks on Palestine. His aid boat will show up, the massacre will happen and he will throw up his hands saying “we said we would not be putting boots on the ground, we couldn’t stop it.” And people will believe it.

I am trying to figure out where I can now be best useful in a very different world than it was 4 years ago, or even 6 months ago. The regular advice rings hallow in this environment. The issues we all face are largely new and snowballing. I don’t regret not opting for the 2.5 kids in Suburbia but making new meaning is a long and gruelling process.
If you read about the biography about Hannah Arendt & her writings, Heidegger receives too much attention as her professor & briefly her lover until she realized he was conspiring with the Nazis. It also illuminates how big a role academia played in normalizing the Nazis out of fear of professional repercussions. Zionists used their brief affair to brand her a self-hating Jew. And most of her lessons are now lost on the Jewish community because of her banishment.
There was a huge issue in #Toronto a few years back with #Pride Toronto and #BLM, the two sides were talking past each other, both had corporate and institutional support and they proceeded to diminish both their efforts, fighting the same hatred. Now both are awash in faux activism when they are needed the most. The progressive in-fighting is why we can’t have nice things.
