What is Satlantis?
Imagine a web app that connects you with unique locations, real people, and relevant perspectives, all through a unique lens made possible with Nostr.
It's everything you love about social networks, combined with a directory of everything you want in the real world, all built on an immutable messaging protocol.
That's Satlantis. ๐
Cities are added when at least 1 person becomes an ambassador in their city. Ambassadors act as moderators for their city's page, are really familiar with the venues and events in their city, and onboard merchants and users to Satlantis.
Send us a DM if you're interested in being an ambassador for your city, and we'll send you the info you need to get started.
Last thing first: We currently use nsec bunker when users login using a username and password. But it hasn't been very reliable lately, so we're working on switching to a better solution. And, users can always login to their existing Nostr account through a Nostr browser extension on their desktop, or through the spring.site app on an Android phone.
As for your other questions, your city needs to be activated on our website before we can add anything to its merchant map. For it to be activated, it needs at least one ambassador to moderate and manage it.

At that point, you'll be able to send us links to saved lists of your favorite venues, including all the places that accept bitcoin. We'll also be adding locations that we believe will appeal to bitcoiners (carnivore menu, seed-oil-free, raw milk, etc), but the "ambassador picks" will be essential to include on the map, as well.

Android users can now access Satlantis on their mobile devices! ๐
Thus far, the only way to log into Satlantis with your existing Nostr account has been to use a Nostr browser extension on your desktop. Creating a new Satlantis account on your phone with a username and password only results in creating a new Nostr account, which isn't connected to your original nsec.
But we now have a solution for that! ๐
Go to https://spring.site, and install the Spring Nostr Browser app (again, only for Android devices). Open it up, and login with your normal Nostr nsec. The Spring app will sign you into any Nostr app that's listed, allowing you to use any of them without having to copy-and-paste your nsec into each one separately (which isn't safe).
Once you're logged in, open the Satlantis app from within Spring, tap the 3 lines in the upper right corner, select Log In, and then "Login with Browser Extension". The Spring app will ask for your permission to login and sign Nostr events for you, and once you grant those permissions, you're all set!

How does nostr:npub15xd2mmjnh3caykh77djsv73e0zkrp42jp5mwerx8f4m6su40wdvss7t3l3 source the initial scores for these quality/cost of life metrics for different spots?
I'm already checking and comparing some destinations
- it would help having some direct comparison mode (location vs location in columns next to each other)
- current version is cool and sufficient too, but it would help if all the line items are sorted the same way across the cities
Ambassador surveys (qualitative) and loads of quantitative data from online. For now.
Soon weโll release the feature where the whole crowd can score each of the elements of a city.
Comparison feature is also on roadmap. Itโs just a matter of getting to all of these teams.

Long time lurker, first time poster, I am very pleased to finally annonce Satonomics (https://satonomics.xyz) ! ๐
Which I've been building full-time since November 2023 and started looong before
In short: FOSS Glassnode (https://glassnode.com)
In long:
Satonomics is an open-source suite of tools that computes, distributes, and displays on-chain data, making it freely available for anyone to use.
While mempool.space gives a very micro view of the network this tool is the exact opposite and very complimentary by giving you a more global/macro view of the flow and various dynamics of the network.
It doesn't matter who you are and what you want to do with the data, I strongly believe and it is very important that anyone should have a full and free access, be able to verify and visualize any kind of data from the network. And so you'll find many many charts (and soon dashboards), or routes through an API (if you prefer it raw) to do anything; from doing a health-check, gain insight into the current or past state of the network or even trading, I don't care, do what you want !
I realize it's not as exciting as ecash and nostr/bitcoin tools but it is something that needed to be done. We can't have fiat-minded 700$/m closed tools like Glassnode being the go to.
Warning: very early and very alpha, things might break and the data might be false (and I'm 100% positive that some datasets are)
