I use to believe the narrative that ‘war was profitable’. Everyone said it.
But I now realise that’s not true. that #war is funded through printing #currency, which will further inflate and debase the currency making the country poorer and more in debt.

Some groups will definitely profit for their arms deals etc. But by and large the #governments and its people become poorer.
If America doesn’t adopt the bitcoin standard at least to some degree. They will collapse as the leading super power.

Alby Hub is an outstanding way to learn the basics of Lightning node running and channel management, in a way that the node-in-a-phone option doesn’t really offer.
It’s not that those tools aren’t great: I love Phoenix for its elegance, and Zeus is incredibly robust. However, Phoenix abstracts way *just enough* to make it beginner-friendly without needing to really understand, Zeus is extremely powerful for advanced users (if you know what you’re doing).
Alby Hub has found a perfect sweet spot, IMO: it incorporates fully functional channel management while making these elements accessible and easy to learn, with a friendly layout and great docs. Couple that with the PWA as a mobile wallet for the self-custodial node, and you’ve pretty much checked every box. (And I hear whispers of a mobile app…?)

Fascinating (and devastating) how Europeans eroded the wealth of some African people groups by obtaining/stealing their #wealth (in the form of other assets) through cheap production of the local #monetary exchange (glass beads).
Essentially what the government does now. Prints fake currency and purchases real #assets. Stealing #wealth from the middle class by further elevating the hurdle to buy into asset classes.
