Completely agree. Going to need the equivalent of independent journalism but for social media. At present, nostr is the only conceivable option to make this a reality in my opinion. Super stoked about nostr and virtually no one around me even recognizes the issue with mainstream social media platforms yet

They also suspended the "debt ceiling" in June 2023 "temporarily". Would bet a lot of sats that they won't reinstate it in 2025 like they said. Even if they do, they will just keep raising it like they did the decades before, completely nullifying what it was intended to do. Government at it's best

Think it will still take a few years before people value it enough... It feels like no one knows about it and those that do know see it as 'n pure investment play and have a small amount allocated and don't see it as "opt-out" at all. Most will likely just sell for fiat if bitcoin appreciates rapidly enough...
