If I send you Bitcoin via lnbits, there's a record of that transaction that links my node node, to your node via a system that you had to authentic with. The transaction may be obfuscated, but it's still recorded and logged.

If I send you Bitcoin via ecash, there's no record of any Bitcoin transfer between you and me. The only transfers, were between mints. If you only connect to mints via Tor, there's nothing to link you to the payment.

You also don't need to create an account to use a mint. Because mints create bearer tokens only, there's no account system like in lnbits. A mint has no way of knowing how many people posses the tokens it's minted.

Liquid is custodial. Lightning is not.

Federated, just means custody is shared. But it's still custodial.

Liquid is no different to the Mutiny wallet federated severs, or CashU federated mints. Liquid custody is done by a bunch of exchanges that I wouldn't trust with my Bitcoin anyway.

I've put five bucks worth of Bitcoin into CashU mints which is more than I trust with Liquid.

My major concern with Liquid is the way they pretend they aren't custodial. At least CashU mints don't pretend to be non-custodial.

When you're traveling abroad, why don't you just buy a local data only sim? Use a cheap burner phone for your existing sim if your current phone can't use two sims but you still need to get phone calls and SMS. Local data sims are almost always way cheaper than roaming charges.

Data saver on Android just sends all http requests to Google's AMP severs to get AMP versions of a website, which saves a little data while Google gets to see every Web page you visit.

Data saver doesn't work with web socket connections so none of the relay connectors in Amethyst will be using Google's AMP severs.
