Maybe proton not directly but they can only do their business under the law of Swiss gov. and so they have to comply with all rules and regulations. The gov. is the parasite which forces them to comply. Don't be naiv to think that they don't give the data when necessary.
I'm not sure if giving your data to Swiss gov. is the way of real freedom. From my point of view the parasites try currently hard to collect all your data to feed the upcoming asset list with your naivity. Take care who you trust.

Depends on the plannings of each government how Bitcoin would be allowed to be used. If using this technology will be criminalized than the mass would be scared to adapt it as the mass is cought in ultimate government trust.
But they want a world in which the banks see all transactions and have to report to the governments acc. the law which government will introduce later when needed.
