I have only been on nostr for 6 days and followed #TSP 's #grownostr initiative and have met some really amazing people. Viewing their post and talking to them has been incredibly inspiring. I love seeing so many people with similar, yet unique ideas and actions taking place.

I like this quote, but I think there are mistakes. It's not a lesson if it cost you your life. So decisions should still be weighed against risks.

I don’t plant outside until late by other standards. Honestly, waiting a couple more weeks doesn’t make much difference. Planting early you run the risk of frost and growth doesn’t come as fast. Waiting a couple of weeks things take off much quicker. I can’t tell much difference in production and I don’t have the headache. YMMV.

They look okay right now. I'm not sure I would see the cell damage if it did frost. Not sure how long it takes. I'm guessing they would begin to wilt through the day. Right now they look pretty vibrant and strong though. They look better than they did yesterday after I was done planting.

The big reason Nostr will succeed massively.

It isn't zaps, it isn't BTC dominance, it isn't just that it is unstoppable, nope.

The magic is that it is a protocol not a platform or an app. Platforms do shit like introduce a feature, people love it, then they just take it away, why, doesn't matter. Like say editing on twitter.

They ignore requests for relatively easy to use features as well. They censor sure but they do it arbitrarily. May be I want porn filtered, may be you don't, okay. May be we also want to talk to one another.

The beauty of Nostr is we can all get what we want. I can use an app/site or set of relays that filters out the porn, you can do otherwise but still see my posts.

Things like marketplaces, etc. there are tons of people working on stuff like this already, each in their own way. Nostr in time will rule all, because anyone using it can pick and choose how they use it but we can all still talk to each other.

Think of how many start ups mire down, never build the stuff they promised. Users become captive waiting for things that never come. You know like Flote?

Two years of "communities and marketplaces are coming". Two years of building up my following there. They finally get the new build out and it SUCKS worse then the old one. None of the promised new features and old ones don't work. Then they fuck with it for another year. Then bail on it all together, "we are starting over."

Oh for fucksake!

All the effort put into using it is now wasted. But a Nostr app, you just plugin to one you want to use, all your followers stay, etc.

All I can say is I am glad I listened to your show and took the time to join the nostr community. In the 6 days since, I've met a lot of interesting people and seen a lot of cool things people are doing.

Day 6: #grownostr initiative

I am worried about my plants...

I finished planting my garden yesterday (20'x60') and the temperature dropped to 34 degrees last night. The low was only supposed to be 40.

I haven't checked on it yet. I had to nostr first (priorities).

I haven't started yet. I am in the middle of building my house (I don't been contracting it, I am actually doing all of the work myself) so I haven't had much time to do all the projects I want to. I did take off this last weekend to get my garden in and do some work on the goat pen, but its back to the house.

Another weekend in the books...

We planted our entire garden and got our goat pen ready for our new doe.

I wish I was able to spend all my time doing projects around the property.

I'm teaching myself FreeCAD. I'm pretty new to CAD. I've done a very little bit of work in fusion 360 and Google SketchUp in the past.

My goal is to be able to 3D print certain parts, and so far I'm really impressed with how mature the program seems. Not necessarily mature like build a skyscraper mature, mature like print cool stuff on a 3D printer mature.

And it's open source and free.

I've never used nor heard of FreeCAD. I am very experienced with AutoCAD as I have used it professionally for many years. I also used to teach SketchUp. I started using it at it first release when it was still owned by a company called @last. Anyway, I am will to help if I can.
