Genesis 1 tells us so much about who God is, who we are, and what our purpose on earth is. (v26) Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” God exists in plurality not singularity. He doesn’t say to Himself, “I will make man in My image…” He says, “Let us… in our… after our…” This is the beginning point for the Christian belief in a God that exists as three eternal persons who are at the same time completely of the same essence or in other words-one God. I have heard it said that God has always existed as a community unto Himself, and that He did not create out of a need to cure loneliness. He has no need for anyone or anything as the Apostle Paul stated in Acts 17. He is fully complete in His triune nature.
