You could have everything on a single hardware wallet and segregate via accounts. That would halve your backup requirements.
BIP85 is already in Passport. See the Key Manager section 👍
We don't do them now that we permanently dropped the price to $199.
Absolutely not. Completely closed source and has the ability to share the seed outside of the device.
I recommend Passport by Foundation. Full disclosure, I work there.
Ahh I haven't hit that limit yet. Not sure I will, but appreciate the heads up.
100% and that's kinda my point. Which is easier for them to deal with?
Good Morning Nostr 🧡⚡
You might feel like a super hacker man with your secure self sovereign geographically distributed multisig setup. But I can assure you your wife likely won't if you unfortunately find yourself on the wrong end of a bus.
Inheritance matters. Keep it simple stupid.
The recent push for 'multisig the standard' is a dangerous one, but the reasons for which are pretty obvious for anyone with a shred of critical thinking 😆
What are your thoughts?

nostr:npub15c88nc8d44gsp4658dnfu5fahswzzu8gaxm5lkuwjud068swdqfspxssvx needs to post that "secure self sovereign geographically distributed multisig setup" tweet here, so the Gavinized dumbfucks can get it through their thick skulls that complexity is the enemy of security, despite what rent-seeking talking heads in Bitcoin try to sell you.
Might drop it tomorrow in my morning note 👍
Testing later today, thanks.
Before deciding on what to put up in your shop, you have to compare and figure things out. Asked around to the bitcoin plebs that knew much more about signing devices / hardware wallets. After talking and figuring out details over the devices @BitcoinBrabant was one of the first to become reseller of both nostr:npub1s0vtkgej33n7ec4d7ycxmwt78up8hpfa30d0yfksrshq7t82mchqynpq6j Passport and nostr:npub1jg552aulj07skd6e7y2hu0vl5g8nl5jvfw8jhn6jpjk0vjd0waksvl6n8n Jade. In the meanwhile we’ve sold hundreds of devices through our webshop that only accepts bitcoin. Because we delete your input data of the order and people can chose to pickup at meetups it feels like we’re building a solid Hodler basis. These open source | air gapped | bitcoin only | fully reproducible devices did not exist a year ago. And for single signature storage, which is the first step after a hot wallet or keeping your bitcoin on exchanges the best practice is to hide a proper backup and have proper pin security on the device. Stateless devices that are used often for signing with a SeedQR are only a proper solution in multisig. In singlesig you can off course use a passphrase. The ease of use and explanation that comes with a passphrase is a factor where we expect more risk than with a pin that is often something pre remembered by the user. The risk of losing the pin is much lower than the passphrase. The setup of the new generation devices with pin is significantly easier than setting up a new device with passphrase. As a first self sovereign step, you can just send a Jade or Passport and it will guide itself. It’s an intuitive UI and fluid experience. If you need to help with the setup of a device, you haven’t tried the setup of these devices yet. What is by our customers really appreciated are the explanatory videos embedded in the app of nostr:npub1s0vtkgej33n7ec4d7ycxmwt78up8hpfa30d0yfksrshq7t82mchqynpq6j Envoy. Is nostr:npub1jg552aulj07skd6e7y2hu0vl5g8nl5jvfw8jhn6jpjk0vjd0waksvl6n8n planning a similar menu option in the green app? I believe @bitcoin__help is close to a final UI so when will you start with the definite explainer movies? Thanks both teams for the PoW and the amazing customer service via the telegram groups. We’ve come a long way. First Jade arrived in September 2022 and Passport in October 2022. We’ve been an official reseller for almost a year now. I especially want to thank plebs, friends and family who’ve made this consistent build up of a small reseller possible, but meant a possible order cut-off every day at 15.00. Which meant we had to make sure someone could pack, print and ship the package. I could have never done this by myself. Thanks 🙏 Sanne (wife) and 3 month old Otis Sha (son named after Satoshi with anagram) for the flexibility you had to put up with. And as for the picture, being in my workplace just gives me a smile every day.
Keep building bro. 🧡
