bought a budget android tablet to test out a pre-alpha version of Damus Notedeck on it. Works quite well! Most other apps on this thing are sluggish.

The difference between this app and most other nostr clients is that it only ever talks to the local relay. This reduces the overall experience of latency and lag when using the app. Once the note arrives, it will always load instantly at any point in the future. We will be moving iOS to this model not long after we iron out the bugs on the android side.

Another distinguishing feature is that Damus Android is purely native, it's running directly on the CPU and drawing directly to the GPU. This makes it insanely responsive on all devices, since there is no javascript, web or java overhead.

Excited to release this sometime this year! Building multiple apps in parallel with such a small team is time consuming, but we're getting there. Thank you for your patience!

I’m excited for bolt12 and the possibilities in store. I love using this freedom technology. I too want to help build out a better future enabled with bitcoin. I love your passion for privacy and helping others. You’re one of my favorite voices in the space.

You probably already know this, but LN implementations need improvements to provide real privacy gains for receiving sats. For example I can look at these 3 addresses and in seconds have a good guess about what node stack/implementations you’re using for each and even see UTXO history in same cases.

1) Phoenix Wallet bolt12

2) bolt12 CLN on startOS w/ an announced channel w/ visible on chain UTXO history.

3) BTCPay LNURL with LND? … maybe the same startOS server. Again with an announced channel w/ visible on chain history.

100% correct on all fronts. Good thing is the on chain 'leakage' is from Postmix coins. Not quite as easy to achieve these days unfortunately, but that was the impetus for my recent LN native buy/spend/save flow.

I'm monitoring your thread about default blinded paths apparently not being default. I too fell for the same assumption.
