Google maps is not working and I'm glad it won't.

Currently I’m using #pfsense CE. It didn’t receive an update since December 2023, and is still based on FreeBSD 14.0 which is unsupported since October 2024. A release date for version 2.8 is not available yet, and I've lost hope that an update will be shipped anytime soon.

Now I’m considering to migrate to #opnsense. I’ve played around a bit with it, but from a GUI point of view it feels not as clean and intuitive as pfSense does.

Beautiful temporary nomad camp at a lake in Spain. And since 2 out of 4 vans have kids in them (including us), there naturally emerged a little nomad kindergarten. Kids run around, build lego, show (and change) toys together and have a great time :).

The children's attention is divided among a group of people and not just the parents (or worse, a single mother), making parenting a natural and seamless process, as it has always been for nomads. I love these days when kindred spirits meet along the way and form a small temporary community.

In the evening, adults start a fire and bring guitar, so it is like going from one great flow directly to another :).

- local feeds, where the app will present a feed based on locations and allow you to post only to people in your location.

- integration with nostrnests, with voice participation, like on Nostur/Twitter spaces.

- realtime voice and video calls that integrate with 0xchat.

You may have heard of the "slippery slope"

Next thing you know, you're driving around with your #phone in airplane mode. Good luck tracking your every move now, overlords.

Then you're biking & walking with your phone in airplane mode instead of driving. High gas prices, drivers licenses, car insurance, #ALPR systems... they ain't gonna stop you.

Then you start your own #garden and learning how to preserve food. 50% inflation on food? Not a huge deal. You got this.

Later your leaving all #electronics at home and paying for everything in cash. You know the routes that minimize exposure to security cameras. You're nearly a ghost.

I'm not sure what comes after that, but I'll let you know when I get there.

These may happen in a slightly different order. Each person has their own path. But once you start going down the "STOP FUCKING EXPLOITING ME" path, and stop paying the people who are doing it, it's extremely hard to stop. It feels so good to be free from all that nonsense. You want to keep going and never look back. #cypherpunk
