Thats nice prototype, something like this would be cool. I imagine that can be a local feature, like you save you stalked/subscribed conversation locally and your client check if there are new things when open it, so you don't expose your stalks, and you can do it by now since doesn't need a new nip or whatever

Would love to have a kind of subscription for threads, sometimes i find interesting conversations and would be amazing to be notified when there are new comments

If I'm understanding things & the question correctly... I can nip89-recommend multiple apps that offer the same event type support, but I can't really rank them in terms of best or most used. It's just simply, "I recommend these apps" which speaks pretty clearly imo.

Limited CL size also helps with requests to relays, when you know you won't have to ask about 100k pubkeys to build the home feed. It probably helps in many other places. But then it's a less 'general' solution than unlimited list, might limit some use cases. But then 'follows-based' home feed might just be a legacy twitter-like approach and we might end up with a very different set of "filters" to build one's main feed. Just rambling

Nip89 seems more like a testament of use than reviews, which could easily be inauthentic opinions as much as authentic... that was my thinking on it. Not infallible, but higher signal

Followers are your pubkey mentioned in their contact lists, you can have as many followers as there are pubkeys.

Your contact list is limited in size though, just like every other event kind, strfry has 128Kb max event size IIRC, others' may vary but there will be some limit no matter which relay. And the bigger the list, the more expensive it is to edit it, which makes increasing this limit not practical anyway.

Labels are more scalable - you can have unlimited number of them, while list size is limited in practice to something like 2k values (that order of magnitude).

For curation labels are def better. You can even create a custom relay using your labels at feeds.nostr.band

Lists are only curated by one user (owner) while NIP-32 labels can be assigned by anyone (when we habe broader support). I think it depends on the use case which fits better.

Feels similar but more styled. Imo we should keep the styling to absolute minimum and no logo. The app logos are ok and I contemplated adding them but ultimately chose not to for the sake of minimizing friction (having to decide which app looks better based on the quality of its logo)
