Correct. Restriction is allowed when you set in the app to get notified when you open it.

Battery management should be also a priority. On Android there is some considerable battery draining issue if the notifications are always on. This issue is for a long time open in their GitHub.
Also, maybe implement flatpak packaging for Linux (currently only in appimage).

So unless a quick solution is found I'm not sure they got to keep using it. All running Android and one GrapheneOS if that info would be useful.
