Not just a right, but a duty; and most of us are not doing our share.

I literally can't go past 48 without going into microsleeps and nearly falling down while standing up.

Maybe I never did the right drugs, but I can't imagine making it to 80 hours without acquiring head injuries or broken wrists etc on the way

Truth, but we can use multiple tabs, and we can visit better websites.

No website actually needs sixteen frameworks, tracking scripts from seven domains, and content that loads only after the ads have loaded or timed out...

Mob justice is rather unpleasant, and communities, even frontier mining camps, tend to develop formalised legal systems pretty fast.

People don't need to agree on the outcomes, but the overwhelming majority do need to agree on process.

In an Anarchist-Communist society, responses to crime would involve community-based solutions. Victims and communities would work together to address the root causes of the crime(s), provide support to the victims, and focus on rehabilitation rather than punitive measures.

I like this as a first-resort, very much, but alone its rather toothless.

Ancient decentralised legal systems (Anglosaxon, Gaelic, Norse) and modern (Somali Xeer, Pashtunwali) approximate that, but always with compensation in the foreground, and "follow the legal process or there's gonna be a clan war" in the background.

First of all, very noble

Love to get there but we won’t in my lifetime

Second Lenin was an anarcho-communist and he ordered people to be killed

Third, if someone killed one of my family members I’d want eye for an eye not rehabilitation

In which timeline was the author of "What Is To Be Done" an anarcho- anything? The SRs were possibly Anarchist-influenced, but the Bolsheviks were anything but.

Quarantining their usage to one specific browser. Would be nice to ditch them completely, but sometimes unavoidable for work or government reasons...

Its exactly the same in rural Australia.

Here in the big city, its less so. I know a number of people who don't drive. It limits people to live and work in places with good public transport, but its eccentric rather than a disability.

Girls who grew up in urban South Asia mostly don't seem to have learned to drive. I guess when chauffeurs are so cheap, why would you? My wife is going to take lessons this January, but I'm not expecting her to actually get her licence :-p

You don't appear to be driving a bulldozer over tents full of displaced persons in the grounds of a hospital here.

Or shooting escaped hostages because you're in full Dirlewanger mode and genociding anything that moves.

I approve.

Maybe you should lobby for others to keep to your hobbies.

TV USB power is usually very dirty, as well as limited to 2.5W. A huge electrolytic capacitor between 5v and ground might solve the problem for a Pi Zero, but I used a Pi 2 and an external power supply.

That's what I think.

Someone with a media background may want to chime in here, we may need a new NIP or two to support things this ecosystem would need, for example to make sure the less customer-facing investigative work gets rewarded and reaches the right people. But maybe that'll happen organically as Nostr grows?

An ecosystem, a protocol, with investigative journalists and analysts separately building long-lasting reputations and followings. Some will choose to remain pseudonymous, others will become minor celebrities.

Substack, but decentralised.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone is "at the wheel".

Members of Parliament are often amiable, myopic midwits running on a treadmill of media announcements and socialising. Hard to tell who's a cynical hypocrite serving vested interests, and who's just a fool captured by "the system" and unable to see outside it.

Neither kind serve any greater purpose, its true.

We need to replace quite a few institutions with protocols after the guillotines, to prevent them recurring.

#Amethyst issue.

I'm using #lineageos on a #pixel, and getting #amethyst from #Fdroid. Had this problem from the start, despite many updates of Amethyst and LineageOS both.

Whenever I'm editing a Note, if I move the cursor to the end of the line and start backspacing, it sometimes removes non alphanumeric characters in the middle of the Note.

Words get squasheduplike this.

Since other people aren't reporting this issue to

nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z I'm guessing its downstream of Amethyst, maybe a library in LineageOS or something unique to the FDroid build.

It makes posting tedious, as, when this bug is combined with autocorrect, entire words can go missing, and I have to proofread and fix up every time.

Any suggestions for how I can help find the source of the error?
