I'm nearing the alpha stage of my first program I ever made top to bottom on my own in python pretty fucking amped. It's extremely basic, just a podcast manager. Once I figure out how to make a fancy media player in html + javascript it'll be almost done. That, and I broke the actual downloading episodes part last night (lmao)

While not specifically for books soulseek actually has a lot

I talk about apes and monkeys a lot, but anyone who's followed me around the net may notice I've never mentioned Koko. That's because I believe Koko was not in an ideal situation, and was being exploited. This video also goes into minor details about another famous great ape with supposed speech abilities: Kanzi the bonobo. Koko may have left us, but Kanzi is still alive, now being cared for by the Ape Cognition Initiative.

Kanzi was also allegedly mistreated by his handlers (specifically Dr Savage). I hope now he has peace in the sanctuary setting he lives in today.

My final take on the question of can great apes talk: Yeah they already do, they speak chimp/gorilla/bonobo to each other. They can understand directions from us as well, so they have some form of recognition for words. As for if it's beyond teaching a dog commands, I'm still not sure.

the most maddening part of this is they do in fact make special washing sprays for vegetables and fruits if you're that retarded about it. Who cares if you get some bugs or dirt honestly whatever.

Sometimes I wonder if pattern recognition, language, and the desire to move forward are the true gifts evolution (or God whoever did it first lmao) gave us. Maybe God is that knowledge itself. It certainly has given us dominion over most animals.

>try to have sex

>some badass rolls coal by the house

>vases rattle off of tables, pictures fall of the wall

>gf gets visibly turned on

>"Uh-Sorry, you're gonna have to leave"

And this is how the Anti Cars movement got started

Finally using ranger to navigate my folders and jesus christ I've been doing it wrong my entire life.

So it's not just me. For me it keeps recommending me new music uploaded from no name people with hardly any views, sometimes literally no views.

Great apes may share over 90% of our dna with us, but they have just a fraction of our rights. Personally I think that should change.

https://www.reuters.com/technology/musks-brain-chip-startup-animal-testing-panel-is-rife-with-potential-conflicts-2023-05-04/

>Details of the panel’s membership and its potential conflicts have not been previously reported. Insight into its makeup comes in the wake of two federal investigations, first reported by Reuters, into potential animal-welfare violations by Neuralink and allegations that it improperly transported dangerous pathogens on implants removed from monkey brains. Reuters reported in December that some employees had grown concerned about the animal experiments being rushed under pressure from Musk to speed development, causing needless suffering and deaths of pigs, sheep and monkeys.

This is nothing new really, monkeys are fodder for abuse and euthanasia in the name of progress. Obviously this has led to greater understandings of our own anatomy, along with groundbreaking research, but I don't think implanting a phone in your head should count. Then again, how else would we know how to do it safely until it's done in a setting like that?

The only advantage to neuralink i can think of is for someone who is paralyzed. That could actually be life changing. Regardless it pains me to know that none of these monkeys will know refuge in their lives. They will be in a cage until they are murdered.

The only monkey sanctuary I'm aware of that helps lab subjects is Primates Incorporated, and they have a very limited space. For every one monkey they have, there are thousands that are dead.

🚫🐘‍♂️ Mastodon: A Social Media Platform That Just Doesn't Cut It 🤦‍♂️🐘🚫

Mastodon, the open-source social media platform, may seem like a 🌈dream come true🌈, but it's more like a 😱nightmare😱 when you dig deeper:

1️⃣ Identity Jail: In Mastodon, your identity is 🤝handcuffed🤝 to a specific instance. You're at the mercy of the instance 🤴maintainer🤴, who can ban you without a second thought. So much for 🕊freedom🕊, huh?

2️⃣ 🙊Censorship Central🙊: With your account tied to a single instance, the potential for 🤐censorship🤐 and silencing of opinions is sky-high. Free speech? More like 🚫🗣no speech🗣🚫!

✅🔑🌟 Enter nostr: A Social Media Platform That Actually Works 🌟🔑✅

nostr, the 🚀cutting-edge🚀 social media platform, offers a 💯superior💯 solution by using public key cryptography to publish posts to various relays (servers). nostr saves the day by fixing Mastodon's problems:

1️⃣ 🆓True Ownership🆓: With nostr, you're the 🤴king🤴 or 👸queen👸 of your identity. Public key cryptography means you have 🌟full control🌟, free from the 🏰tyranny🏰 of instance maintainers. Now that's what we call 💪decentralization💪!

2️⃣ 🚫🙅‍♂️Censorship Resistance🙅‍♂️🚫: nostr's system of publishing posts to multiple relays makes it 🥊harder than a rock🥊 for any single entity to silence or censor your content. This promotes a more open and inclusive environment for 🗣discourse🗣 and 📚information sharing📚.

In conclusion, if you want a social media platform that offers true decentralization, autonomy, and freedom of speech, 🏃‍♂️run away🏃‍♂️ from the flawed Mastodon and 🤗embrace🤗 the superior nostr platform. 🚀🌐🎉"

Feel free to 📢share📢 and 🔄spread🔄 this updated copy-pasta about Mastodon's limitations and nostr's advantages.
